Customer reviews for LG 7.3 cu. ft. Electric Dryer with Sensor Dry forDamp clothes constantly
It does have a big capacity, which is nice. We have had it for 6 months, and it has been very frustrating to get the clothes dry. I've tried every setting. The clothes are often slightly damp after every cycle, even with the heat and dryness setting all the way up. If I retry the cycle, it's sensors turn it off after a few minutes, even though the clothes are still slightly damp. The only way I can bypass this is by doing a "Quick Dry" cycle and turning the time up. The loads that aren't even very big are still coming out damp. I've checked and cleaned the vent hose and all filters, and there is no blockage. I've opened the door to the dryer and the door is covered in condensation still. Things should not still be so wet after drying at the highest setting for 1.5 hours. I've completely given up the hope of having a towel or blanket load dry fully in one go. I want hot, fluffy clothes, not cold, damp clothes. I don't have the time or energy to keep fighting with this thing.
Hey there! We understand your concerns about your clothes consistently coming out damp, and we appreciate the effort you've put into troubleshooting. The condensation and the need for timed cycles suggest the heating system or sensors may need a professional's attention. We want to help you get this resolved. Please send us a direct message to @LGUSSupport with your dryer's model/serial number and purchase date. We're committed to making sure your dryer is providing you with a great experience. ^ Diego
Good Dryer, can't see the control panel too dim.
Control Panel is so dim that I am having to make labels so that we know what cycle to choose from. I've bought new lighting, turned off the lighting in the room; nothing helped it's just too dim. Dries very well but we cannot figure out what setting to put it on if we can't see the control panel. I would send back the washer and drier if they had a control panel that was printed.
Hey there! We're here to ensure your LG dryer provides excellent performance with clear controls. We understand your dryer dries very well, but you're finding the control panel too dim, making cycle selection difficult. We truly want to help resolve this. Not user friendly
Do not recommend. I loved my previous LG set. I was able to select a mode, then customize the options to fit my needs. The only options available are what are preset and most are med/high heat settings. I have a lot of office work attire and baby clothes that all need low settings and this is just not an option unless you choose quick dry, but then you lose the sensing option and you can only time dry.
Hey Jay. It sounds like your new dryer isn't offering the customization you're used to, and it's definitely challenging when you can't select the lower heat settings needed for delicate items like office wear and baby clothes. We understand how important it is to have precise control over your drying cycles. Many of our newer models, while having optimized preset cycles, can often be customized further. You might find additional cycle options or ways to fine-tune settings through the LG ThinQ app's download cycles. This could provide the flexibility you're looking for: https://www.lg.com/us/support/help-library/lg-thinq-how-to-use-download-cycles--20152746918577 To help explore more options, please send us a private message on social media @LGUSSupport with your dryer's model number and purchase date. It's ok.
Unlike your mom, it doesn't do great with larger loads.
Hi Bravo, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We understand you’re not seeing the larger‑load performance you expected from your LG 7.3 cu ft Ultra Large Capacity Electric Dryer with EasyLoad Door and AI Sensor Dry, model DLE8400WE. This dryer is designed to manage full loads, and a few quick checks can help improve consistency. Make sure the lint filter is fully clean before each cycle, confirm the vent duct has no restrictions, and try using AI Dry or Normal so the sensors can adjust time and temperature for the best results. Your product manual is available here if you’d like to review recommended loading and cycle guidelines: https://www.lg.com/us/support/product/lg-DLE8400WE.AEWEEUS?tab=1 If you need further assistance, feel free to email lgdigitalcare@lg.sprinklrsupport.com. Grinding noise
I purchased this dryer a few month back and recently started noticing a grinding noise while drying.
Hey Cab! We completely understand how frustrating it is when a new appliance starts making an unusual grinding sound. A grinding noise can often be caused by worn components like the drum support rollers, a damaged felt seal, or even a small object caught inside. Large capacity, easy to load and unload
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love the dryer. Super large capacity. Was easy to figure out the settings. The wrinkle care feature does work well and use it all the time. Another feature that l like is the reversible door, open the topside when loading from the washer so that the laundry doesn't fall on the floor and open the side way when unloading into a laundry basket.
Hi, Winne! We appreciate you sharing your experience with your LG Dryer. It’s great hearing how the large capacity, easy‑to‑use settings, and wrinkle care feature are all making laundry day smoother. The reversible door is such a smart touch too — loading and unloading without dropping clothes on the floor is a win in any home. Sounds like your LG unit is doing exactly what you need! Bad touch controls
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Really bad touch control panel. No one cautioned me about it and let me know there was a similar model with normal buttons. I have to push the start button 15 to 20 times to run the dryer. Called service who witnessed how many times I had to push the button. Said it was working as designed and told me about the other model. Too late for me to swap. I'm annoyed every time I use the dryer. The dryer door is great.

Great dryer
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this a couple of weeks ago . It’s very efficient and clothes are dry at end of cycle ! The door opens to the side and towards bottom . I expected it to open completely toward bottom but it’s less than half way open . I am not sure how beneficial that is to me .Still new so maybe I will find its purpose .
New and confusing
This dryer is delightfully large; dries just as hoped; have only a few questions: why won't the door stay open so I can move clothes from washer with both hands? why is the top slanted instead of flat which eliminates one of my main sorting spaces in my pantry? and, most importantly, why did I have to call your 800 number in order to get a real operating manual, because what comes with the dryer installation is worthless.
Hello, Mary! We appreciate your fantastic 5‑star review of your LG dryer! It’s great hearing that the large capacity and strong drying performance are hitting the mark for you. The questions you raised are thoughtful ones — the door design is meant to prevent it from swinging freely during loading, and the slanted top is part of the dryer’s styling and safety design. We're also glad you reached out for the full LG operating manual, since having the complete guide makes exploring all the features much easier! No right side vent for gas models- stupid design
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I searched specifically for dryers with side venting and when I went to install it, I found that gas models don't support right side venting. Not only that, but the gas line sticks out at the bottom right by 3", so I also can't rear vent and turn right with the pipe, which is the way I need to go. And even if the vent went somewhere else, I can't push the dryer up against the wall because the gas line sticks out so far rather than being mounted at an angle, or at least cut back closer to the back of the unit. I haven't been able to use it because I need to build some crazy venting contraption to hook it up.
