A little pricey but worth it

After 71,000 miles of highway driving on my 2014 truck, I opted for the next size up because the tire shop did not have my factory size. The Michelin Defender is a fantastic tire for better traction, ride comfort, road noise and looks. Only time will tell on how long they last. They don't squeal in tight turns or slip on take off from a stop like my factory tires did. I should have ordered the factory size because I immediately noticed a little over 1 mile per gallon drop in mileage because the computer sensed the resistance from the taller tires and is in 8 cylinder mode more often than before.

Great Handling for a Long Lasting Tire

My minivan has a history of going through tires quickly, even tires with long warranties. These Michelin Defenders are wearing very well and should go the distance. An unexpected benefit has been the great handling of the tires. They have really made my old van a pleasure to drive again, as the steering is more responsive and the van just feels more stable when turning.

Best tires I have ever owned.

I am not a stranger to Michelin Tires. I have owned them in the past. Nothing else compares to the quality and service you get from a Michelin tire. I replaced most of my front end before I figured out the new tires I bought from a giant retailer were not worth placing on my truck, I bought another new set that were an upgrade and still had really bad shaking, I had them balanced and hard road tested and was told the shaking was due to the poor quality tires. I bought a new set of Michelin tires, you guessed it no shaking at all. I could have saved myself a lot of money and grief by buying Michelins to begin with.

20,000 Miles and Tires are Worn & Need to be Replaced

I purchased these tires less than 2 years ago and only have 20,000 miles on them. The measured tread depth is is only 7/'32 and they are "worn" so they will need to be replaced very soon. .I have taken care of them @ the dealership with regular rotations & alignments . The tires require air in them every 3 weeks & the the road noise is terrible. I am very unhappy and dissatisfied with these tires. I will never buy Michelin tires again. How disappointing because Michelin use to have good tires that would last.

Well worth the money

Been 3000 miles now on Defender LTX 265/70/17 for my 2013 Tahoe LT and I love these tires! In the first 500 miles had two 6+" snows and I could not believe how great they handle the snow. Was like driving on dry pavement. No slip, slide or anything. And these tires are so quiet on the interstate.

Rated at 70,000...need to replace @ 35,700

I rotated these tires every 6000 miles and checked the inflation frequently but all I could get was 35,700 miles. I was expecting 55,000 but apparently that was a high expectation. I now need to replace them, but with what brand? I have been running Michelin for 45 years and love the ride but this tire isn't cheap and having to replace them every 2 years is ridiculous. I'm very disappointed in Michelin.

Exceed Expetations

Put a set of Defenders on our Camry just under three years ago. The tires met our expectations with road noise, handling and wear. At 105,600 miles later, I am shopping for another set. There is no tire on the market to get 105k miles. Worth every penny!

My Wife and kids ride on these tires

Bought my car new in 2012 and it came with Michelin Defenders. Never had this brand tires before but after they were worn to close to nothing, I had to tell my wife it's time for new tires. She said no way ...they still drive like new. And she was right. They did. Even after 72,000 miles. Never felt these tires hydroplane and no issues with uneven wear. Excellent tires !!!

No good in the snow

I have a long driveway, 200 feet, and everytime it snows I always get stuck on my driveway. I can never make it up my driveway. As far as any other weather, the tires are very good. They are very quiet. They are good for highway driving. I get my tires rotated every 5000 miles. I have the tires now for one year and eight months. If it wasn't for the problem in the snow and getting up my driveway, I would get these tires again..

Above and beyond

I purchased a set of Michelin Defenders back in April 2013. Now 91,000 later I am purchasing my second set of Michelin Defenders. With the exception of a nail in the tires I haven't had the least bit of trouble. I feel safe riding on these tires as I do a lot of highway driving in all types of weather. Thank you for building a good quality product that really does get all the miles you said it would. Karen
