Just excellent tires

This is the fourth set of Altimax RT / Altimax RT43 tires I've had, used on three different vehicles. All have been excellent tires. Good ride, hold balance extremely well, and are quieter than many major brand tires I've previously used. One set was a little shy of expected(warranted) mileage, but the other three have done well. Plan on continuing to use these.

Rides like a more expensive tire

I've driven my Altimax RT43 tires for over 6,000 miles on an old 2004 Honda Civic. These are outstanding tires. They are extremely quiet tires and add little to no noise to the road. On a good road, you won't hear these tires. They are a solid, comfortable ride and handle great on the road, on curves and in turns. On the highway, they ride smooth. In curves and turns, I've never felt like the tires were going to lose the car as I have on some other tires. Traction is excellent in our Texas downpours and I've never lost control of the car while driving in rain. I can't address ice or snow as we had a mild winter this year. These Generals were a huge improvement over my old Bridgestones (which admittedly were not bad tires). Overall, they ride and handle like much more expensive touring tires. I'd definitely buy a set of these again.

Awesome Tire

I bought 4 for my 2006 Scion XA.  Live in NYC and put on 0-300 Miles / Day. Tire grips the road  through medium-light Snow (Deep Stuff is out West ) and Icey Roads. Deep Rain is no problem either. Rides is relatively quiet as well. I will probably purchase a 2nd set when I wear these out. Really love these tires, highly recommended!

Fantastic tire for a typical car/crossover use

We replaced the OE Yokohama tires on our Mazda CX-5 with these before they were fully worn. The Generals are far more comfortable (softer sidewall and reduced tread noise), and offer significantly more grip in wet conditions. I wouldn't put these on a sports car, but for someone who wants long treadwear, safety, and value, these are hard to beat. The difference in ride quality is night and day. If you have a crossover and don't like how they all seem to ride harsh, try these tires. It made a huge improvement to ride quality without spoiling the handling of the vehicle.  In the past we've used General Altimax Arctic tires exclusively for our winter tires, but this is our first all season tires from them. Tire Rack did measured tests of them and it's truly impressive how they perform for the price. I'm very glad I bought these.

This is my 5 set of these tires and I will have a

I have had these tires on my rwd Lincoln town car, (twice) Honda Civic, Equinox, and Malibu. having no complaints, excellent in the snow and rain while having great dry traction. These tires got about 30,000 miles on the Malibu driving it hard on the highway and back roads. While they were bald they still remained good on the dry roads and understandably bad in the rain. Great tire recommended highly to friends and they agree the tire is great.

Perfect match tires for my stock Miata NA!

I've had these tires almost a year now. One of the very few tires made to stock specs for my stock and original 1993 Miata MX 5. SO glad I found them. Absolutely perfect for the sometimes aggressive and sometimes docile cruising I like to do. Great traction cold, wet (which does not happen often as I tend not to get my car wet at all), warm dry, etc. Great wear as well. Highly recommend them and also like the price. P.S. I always have my tires ""road forced balanced"" and  get a quality 4 wheel alignment when four tires are installed.I recommend this as well.

Not perfect(no tire is), but a solid perfomer

I drive 75,000 miles plus a year since Sept. I have over 30,000 on the set. Good in winter Good in the wet when new...road noise is ok and the feel is sporty. I run them at 40psi cause they feel too mushy for me at 35psi. To get any life you must rotate every 10,000miles and keep psi constant, you'll meet the recommended 50k but the tire after 40k sucks in the wet and will not make a winter. So the last 10k better come in the summer and you have to be concerned on rain days.

Excellent all around tire

I bought these tires last year in August (2018).  I have had to drive home in the rain, sleet, snow and worse...ice, late at night.   I can honestly say that I drove home on ice last year and I didnt slip.   They are quiet.  New England weather is very unpredictable and after driving for 39 years, these are easily the best tires I have ever had.  I will buy them again when the time comes.

Great buy

4 full seasons on these tires and I am extremely pleased. 2 long 2500 mile road trips (1 year apart) and the tires ran smooth as can be on our Toyota Sienna. We live in Snow country and since the tires were new decided to keep these on rather than switch to true snow tires. They performed very well in the snow not so well on stopping on ice.

Great Tire at a Reasonable Price

I have used Pirelli tires for years. Driving a car now that's not ""sports"" oriented I decided to follow the review by Tire Rack and went with the AltiMAX RT43. I have not been disappointed, these tires are good in wet and dry and offer great value.
