Really great ride!

I bought these tires about 3 months ago. They have good traction no worries about hydroplaneing. The price is right, economical plus good value. I've had general tires in the past and always had great performance. These I'm sure will give the same results.

Great Tire

I have bought many different brands of tire over the past 40 years and am very impressed with the AltiMAX RT. It has a very nive ride quality, great wet and dry traction.  I am looking forward to seeing how these perform in the snow. Definitely would purchase again!

I would buy these tires again Altimax RT43's

I drive a Toyota Avalon. It came with Michelin Touring tires which were recommended, however I didn't like the traction of the tire during winter. They were suppose to be a good tire for light snows and wet conditions. After sliding off the road a few times and the poor traction I've received, I replaced them with General Altimax RT 43. What a nice smooth driving tire. Was a few hundred less then Michelin ones and they save me money on gas. I've increased around 32 miles a tank or 2 miles per gallon.  I replaced them in January of 2020, so I have had a few snow storms on these tires. Traction in 4 to 6"" of deep wet snow, excellent they bite right through. If you put your foot into the gas pedal, they'll spin but what wouldn't. Slushy wet weather has increased traction to. They do good in wet rainy conditions. I couldn't be happier. I will definetly buy another set when these wear out. I put 10,000 miles on these and had 2 tire roations with no noticeable wear. Even my alignment is still good. Sometimes the best tire isn't always the best for your situation. I read a lot of reviews and did my homework before I switch to General and I'm happy I did. Living in northeast Ohio I need a dependable tire and the Altimax RT 43 suits me just fine.

10000 MILES AND GOING STRONG

We purchased a set of four of the General AltiMAX RT 43 tires for a 16 Subaru Crosstrek. We have just over 10,000 miles since August of 18. great all around tire. Handle the past NE Ohio winter without any issues. My son has had a set of the same tires on a Ford Fusion with very good results. He has had them for several years in Southern Ohio. Great all around tire.

Nice tires until they deflated

I like the performance of these tires and they generally feel and handle well. They were well reviewed for all weather, and they performed well in the rain in the Rockies in the summer. I used them for part of the winter,  but my snow tires--old as they are--are still a better winter tire. The biggest reason I did not use them in the winter, though, was that they acted very unreliably on a long trip. Two tires deflated during a 500 mile trip. The rear driver's side deflated about 300 miles into the trip. There was nothing actually wrong with the tire--no punctures, not cracks--and once filled with air again, the tire performed for the rest of the trip. On the way home, again about 300 miles into the trip (or about 500 miles farther than the first deflation) another tire deflated (this time, the front passenger's side tire). Neither time did the deflation feel noticeable to the driver--different drivers both drove on the deflated tire for longer than ideal without realizing it until stopping. Again, once re-inflated the tire performed alright, though the rubber has been worn a bit by riding low. Since the incident, I took the tires back to the tire shop (Sears auto) where they were installed to be checked over. They said nothing was wrong with the tires beyond the new sidewall wear: no punctures, no problems with the tread, not apparent problems with the valve. Sears told me the warranty was only good on the tread,  and they wouldn't replace them, despite the tire failure happening within 6 months of buying the tires. I'm running on these tires now, because the snows needed to come off, and they make me nervous, to be honest. I have not had any rapid deflations, but I have not driven more than about 100 miles at a time on these. One of the tires that deflated does seem to lose air a little more quickly than it should. I'd just like to know what the problem is, since the auto center refused to speculate and I have no idea if these tires are really safe.

Great all season tire

The General AltMAX RT 43 has got to be the best tire I've ever seen in it's class. Reasonably priced, long tread life, holds the road  in dry, wet, and even light snow well. And best of all, the tire is very quiet on the road. I've bought four complete tire sets so far. Two for my cars, two for my daughters cars. Just hope they don't stop making them.

Great tires!

I bought these tires for my Honda CRV because they were highly rated in a consumer magazine.  The review has been accurate.  These tires give a very smooth ride and are very responsive in wet weather.  We have been very pleased with a slight increase in gas mileage.

Great tire for the money

I bought a set of tires for my Subaru Outback and have about 15000 miles on them.  I drove them through many snow storms and they are very sure-footed for an all season tire.  I chose them based on several positive reviews in a leading consumer magazine and online.   I am looking for a set when my Honda Odyssey needs new tires in the next 6 months.  Definately recommend them!

Winter coming

2011 Kia Optima SX Turbo. I missed the 1st snow fall here in Chicago, as the tires hadn't arrived yet; this allowed me to gauge how good the tires would be. 2nd snowfall...no problem. Really love the bite of these tires in the snow and ice. Confident grip. They also did well on the rain we got before the snow. Very much loving this purchase!

Great Touring Tires

I bought these tires for my 2003 Ford Mustang (238K orginal owner). I have run through enough different styles of tires, to find that these are the best handling so far on my car. Of course I had to try some high speed cornering and had no slippage (not recommended with OEM suspension). As my car and I have gotten older a smoother ride has become more desirable and these AltiMAX RT43 have been up to the task.
