Vast improvement

I reviewed tires for several weeks before I purchased the General Altimax. It was a great purchase. It was a great improvement over the tires that came on my Civic.I would replace with the same tire if something would occur that ruined these tires(accident etc).

Best tires I ever purchased

I purchased these for my 2012 Nissan Rogue.  We don't do a lot of driving, only 5-6K a year.  I've had these on for almost 2 years and they show no sign of wear.  I also have a set of these on my 2012 Nissan Sentra that my son drives.  These are now about 3 years old, and are just starting to show some sign of wear.  On both vehicles the ride is smooth and handling is super great.

Smooth quiet ride

General Altimax RT43 was a great choice on our Honda CRV. My main concern was that they were quiet, these tires exceed that expectation by far. We have found our go-to tire for summer on our CRV. We will definitely buy another set when these wear out.

Love these tires

I have the RT43 tires on three of my vehicles--two vans and a small sedan. The tires wear well, handle well, and ride well. Quiet ride with excellent traction. Wearing as expected rotating every 5,000 miles. For the money, one of the best tires I have ever owned. Will buy again.

fast wearing on lightweight cuv

Bought these tires in early 2020 and rotated early. Just noticed the fronts will not pass inspection soon as the wear bars are almost level with the remaining tread. These tires are on a 2018 Jeep Renegade and used mainly for highway driving. No off road. Pressure always maintained. Alignment is correct. The issue is, these tires just have over 20k miles. Will attempt a pro rated warranty claim but would not recommend.

Smooth Ride

I love these tires. After using Michelins tires for years and not getting the mileage I should have on them I decided to try something new.Saw the reviews on this tire and decided to give it a try. The ride is so smoothe and much quieter  with these tires. Ready to put them on my other Van. Running them on a 1990 Dodge Grand Caravan also going to put them on my 2014 Chrysler Towne and Country.

Very Comfortable Ride - Good Value

I needed fresh 14"" tires for an '84 Mercedes 300CD.  I use this in dry weather at or above freezing.   The Michelins that were on the car when I got it were out of date and the rubber was cracking.  Those tires are crazy expensive and there were enough decent reviews on line that suggested this was a very good tire for the cost.  They were correct. These are every bit as quiet as the MIchelins (though the diesel sound takes up the slack).  They corner quietly too.  Just as important, they seem to grip nicely as well. There aren't all too many 14"" tires available any more, but these are and worthy of consideration.

Really Smooth Ride

I bought these tiries based on the review from Consumer Reports. I have a Lexus GS350. Tire provide a really smooth ride and handle well. Great in Winter Snow and Summer Pavement. I am super impressed by the Value. I also have gotten the best mileage ever using these tires.

Nice for the price

I'd purchased two sets. One for my 05' Outback I recently sold and only got about 2K on but was very satisfied with the performance. The 2nd set is on our 04 Forester and right now has only about 2K as well. The report is that down hill stopping on wet pavement on her routine route no longer Engages the ABS as with the other tires that had over 70% tread still on them and always did even when new so that says a whole lot right there. Have been completely satisfied with a general tires we have purchased.

Nice tires until they deflated

I like the performance of these tires and they generally feel and handle well. They were well reviewed for all weather, and they performed well in the rain in the Rockies in the summer. I used them for part of the winter,  but my snow tires--old as they are--are still a better winter tire. The biggest reason I did not use them in the winter, though, was that they acted very unreliably on a long trip. Two tires deflated during a 500 mile trip. The rear driver's side deflated about 300 miles into the trip. There was nothing actually wrong with the tire--no punctures, not cracks--and once filled with air again, the tire performed for the rest of the trip. On the way home, again about 300 miles into the trip (or about 500 miles farther than the first deflation) another tire deflated (this time, the front passenger's side tire). Neither time did the deflation feel noticeable to the driver--different drivers both drove on the deflated tire for longer than ideal without realizing it until stopping. Again, once re-inflated the tire performed alright, though the rubber has been worn a bit by riding low. Since the incident, I took the tires back to the tire shop (Sears auto) where they were installed to be checked over. They said nothing was wrong with the tires beyond the new sidewall wear: no punctures, no problems with the tread, not apparent problems with the valve. Sears told me the warranty was only good on the tread,  and they wouldn't replace them, despite the tire failure happening within 6 months of buying the tires. I'm running on these tires now, because the snows needed to come off, and they make me nervous, to be honest. I have not had any rapid deflations, but I have not driven more than about 100 miles at a time on these. One of the tires that deflated does seem to lose air a little more quickly than it should. I'd just like to know what the problem is, since the auto center refused to speculate and I have no idea if these tires are really safe.
