[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had a bare spot on my back lawn which I had been working on for the past few years. Nothing I tried seemed to work. Scott's EZ Seed did the trick. I followed the directions and soon saw new grass poking up where nothing had grown for a while.

I bought this product thinking it would be simple and easy to use. Instead, (I have arthritis), it took me 15 minutes to find a way to pry open the "easy open" lid. Imagine my surprise, when I now see a black plastic piece inside and a small white "cover" under that. NO instruction on what to do next. Should I try to break the black plastic piece so I can get to the white seal underneath? It appears to be welded in place, so I started poking at the white seal. Again, NO instruction, no arrow, no poke here. I finally got a small wedge of an opening, and after using a knife, scissors, and finally a screwdriver to poke it into the container was able to actually see the product. It took forever to spread since the white plastic kept resurfacing and getting in the way of the opening for the product. Never again. PS - nothing on your website about how to open either.

In full sun and with heat over 90 many days and while away for extended time, grass did not germinate as I was unable to ensure that seeded area was always moist. Received this seed to late in growing season, needed to be put down in late April or May to take advantage of cooler temperatures and more rain.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This stuff grows almost anywhere. I find it will even grow in patches where I have spread crabgrass preventer. While it minimizes water needs over other products, I still recommend some light water every day, esp in windy or hot conditions. It is a little expensive, so it is not a great value for large areas.

Scotts® EZ Seed® Patch & Repair made it a breeze to get grass growing again on these spots. With a combination of mulch, seed, & fertilizer all in on dispenser all you need to do is shake an appropriate amount onto the bare spots and water it in. I used this product a couple weeks ago and I already have quite a bit of new grass coming up!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Everything in the product is properly mixed, has the right ingredients that you need so you don't have to buy a bag of seed through the seat down and then add topsoil over the seed to keep it moist. It is all done for you

We purchased this product at Lowes to fill in bare area after having some trees removed. We followed directions but not have any grass grow to speak of. We used Scotts lawn soil and fertilizer. We had at least 4 inches of soil and used Turf Builder starter per the directions. (The label says that type can be used when planting new grass) Scotts products are usually pretty dependable but this time EZ Seed fizzled...

I bought a 3.5 gallon size as it looks like a great idea for some spots I had. After 2 weeks of watering, mixed in good soil, good sun, etc not a single strand of grass has started, seriously...not one. The "Guaranteed" on the front label made me think that this might be average. But it was worse than I expected from Scotts.
