I assembled my grill about two weeks ago. The assembly took several hours, but was very easy with the BILT app. I am truly amazed at the quality of the grill for the price. This grill is a great value. I have used it twice, and it has worked flawlessly.

This grill is not some box store junk. The quality and simplicity of assembly is great! It’s so versatile and is a handsome addition to our yard. Now I’ve got to build the Mrs. a patio. My anticipation for the Argentine/Santa Maria Grill was inspired by Francis Mallmann. The order was placed with Great Joy & before my eyes the assembly was taking place. Great direction- by the way. We had the delight of cooking Christmas dinner with the whole family.The fire was started as the coals began their story of giving off heat. We had pineapple hanging, two guinea hens on those fantastic stainless steel hooks,mushrooms & lemon halves. The steaks were placed on the grill last as the grill was lowered just above the coals. There was room for sausage for appetizer as the grill space acomodates plenty of cooking surface. Everybody loved to crank the big wheel while the sound repeats it's progress. This method of Argentine open fire cooking has made my wife like steak off the grill again. Everything about the Argentine /Santa Maria grill is Tremendous, fire bricks,latches on the door ,grates of heavy cast iron, It's the BEST. Cheers to Backyard. I'm still in shock that I get to own a Santa Maria type grill. I've wanted one for years, but the pricing was just out of control. I was worried that I was going to "get what I paid for" here and have a bbq that might not last that long, but I was pleasantly surprised that this thing is a beast! Incredibly heavy and well built! Took some time to build but was very straight forward and quite easy. Cooking over live fire is a craft that I'm still working on but there is no going back for me! I’m really impressed by the quality of this grill. It’s solid and all the features (raising/lowering grate, front door to firebox, even the locks on the casters are well designed and robustly built. I was pleasantly surprised. It’s a great value for the price. I had a task rabbit guy assemble it because it was too heavy and difficult for me (I have one arm) it took him three hours. I checked out the online guide and it seemed well thought out and not difficult to follow. I’m enjoying cooking on it.

Explanation of putting it together was great.. pieces all went together. Only thing is when the grill goes down, it gets stuck on one side. Which I have to push down on the grill to go down. The other thing was the little screw were really hard to screw in. Other than that I’m very happy with it.

I’ve been looking for a Santa Maria style grill for a while and there are a ton of options on the market that range from cheap (both in materials used and price) and super expensive. There is a lot of value in this grill for the type of materials used and different components it offers. The fire bricks are not a feature you see on a lot of grills. The quality of materials is evident with the results of the cooks. Very impressed and looking forward to trying a bunch of different types of cooks.
