Several of my friends have one and has never let them down. It has now given me peace of mind when I leave the house as I have a sump pump in the basement and with the new building code,, all the water goes there. They only drawback is the installation cost. Can't see how it cost almost as much as the generator and it takes them only 3 hours to install.

Professional interaction with installer, Spectrum electric. They know the Generac product and how to install it inside and out. Only one instance of power outage since installation. Generator performed perfectly for approx 1.5 hours during outage and kept house comfortable including heating units operation. My only complaint is that the unit is noisier than expected and location between houses amplifies the noise during operation.

I am quite pleased with the generator, although we haven't had to really use it ,it is nice knowing that it is there ready for us. My wife had not heard it run yet so I informed her that on Mondays it runs a self diagnostic test, so she she grabed a lawn chair and sat outside to hear it run when it started her first comment was that she had expected it to be a lot louder than it was. Thank you for the great product and the very qualified installers. P.S. my neighbors are jealous.

I have had my 22kw natural gas Generac for less than a year. It kept my house fully powered for approximately 12 straight hours during the recent Matthew hurricane. It has also lighted the way on two other recent power outages. And I can always depend on it doing it's weekly self test. Very pleased in Jacksonville, Fl.

Electrical and plumbing subcontractors were "hackers". Couldn't predict when they were to be at my house to do their work. Left gutter downspout in an ugly and rediculous work around. Took 2 weeks to get them back to fix downspout.Plumbers routed gas pipe with whatever fittings they had on the truck leaving the pipe as an obstical and trip hazzard.

We installed a 22 KW machine as a backup for our entire house. Our home is served via an 8000V electric primary cable which is direct buried from the source to transformer. We are radial fed, which means there is no backup cable that can be used to provide power should the UG cable fail. This generator will put power back to our entire home while the Power Company repairs the cable. We live at the top of a bluff in NE Iowa, and should the cable fault, it would be hard to repair the cable in a short time. Haven't had an extended outage yet, but, there will be one and when it hits, that generator is there to perform. Love It!

So far our generator has been working as expected and after two winter storms, we are lucky of no main power lost. However it feels good to have our standby guardian on call, just in case. Winter is not over and the worst is yet to come, but we feel very safe.

Since installation in early March, the unit has fired up 5 time for various power outages. Most recently just two days ago when a neighbor's moving truck took out two utility poles for eight hours. The unit worked flawlessly during the outage much to the envy of my neighbors.

02/05/17 Generac, 22 KW Home Standby Generator Unit, Exceeds Expectation… We purchased the Generac 22 KW model 6551, p/n 45335 from the Northern Tool Company, a Generac Dealer, in August 2016 with free shipping. I made the purchased decision based on my previous experience with a 7.5 KW Generac generator, coupled with the following features… full home stand by unit, aluminum housing, smart switch, cold weather starting kit, flexible fuel line, easy switching from NG to LP fuel, True Power technology, OHVI engine and Quiet-Test..i.e….self starting programmable test and extended warranty. Local dealers assisted me with the installation with no significant problems experienced during the installation along with an instance start up. Great job. On January 25, 2017, 4 months later, our electric went off and was off for 5 hours due to a downed power line caused by a fallen tree. The generator ‘kicked in” automatically, what a relief. We couldn’t be happier with our purchase and having the peace of mind, especially living in the country. From a satisfied customer in Batesville, Indiana.

the best way to describe this unit is worry free. When the power goes out the unit kicks in. The unit looks nice and actually this is an upgrade from an older model. Only concern was that when a part went out on the unit within within a few days, it took Generac over 6 weeks to remedy the issue. I almost went to a different brand because of it.
