I had a 200amp transfer switch installed by my home builder so all I had to do was buy a generator and run the wiring. I decided to get the 22kw air cooled generac. What a simple unit to install on your own. Very detailed instructions and initial setup was a breeze. I went with the weekly exercise schedule for my generac. Only bad thing is that my utility company power has only went out once and it was only about 30 minutes. Had absolutely zero issues during those 30 minutes.

My new Generac whole-house generator eliminates the need to refrain from using heat/air during a power outage. Much more convenient. Also, the new plastic housing eliminates the serious rust problem we experienced with the prior metal encased unit. And finally, no more replacing the battery every year. The new charging system has come into the modern ages and does not charge all the time until the battery explodes. Like an iPhone or other device, it only charges when needed and stops at full charge. Overall, I am well-pleases with the new, larger unit and find greater peace of mind in ownership.

This generator was purchased in October 2016 it took 3 months to get permits for installation. It worked perfectly during Irma! Ran for 33 hours. We were the only ones on the street that had power. A great product. A plus to the value of property.

The product looks great and performs very well on tests I had no chance to test it during power outage as we had no significant outages since instillation The team that installed it were great . Professional, on time and knowledgeable. It looks great and has many new features. I like that it has a long term warranty at no extra charge. Like insurance, it is good to have but hope I don't need to use

So far, so good. We have had a couple of short term outages and everything worked as expected. Hopefully we will never have to use it for an extended time but it is comforting to know it is there. We are a retired farm couple who decided to stay in our older home in the country rather than move to town. A little pricy, but definitely worth the piece of mind it provides.

We bought the 22 kw generator after a couple of storms and a small hurricane left us without power for days, shortly after we had our Generac installed late in the afternoon we lost power the generator cranked within seconds and had full power restored, Great feeling and that night we had lost power for 4 hrs. We love our Generac generator. Donald

Actually, aside from it looking good, We have no idea how well it works. We have not had any type power outage since installation. Further, we have attempted to "be there" when the unit initiates its bi-weekly "process". As yet have we heard it start up. Therefore, we're unsure if it works. We've contacted the consultant and he checked the time & date and the schedule and pronounces it "good to go". so, at this time, we are in a "wait & see' mode.

At this point, my review can only address the installer and the installation of the generator. We've not had a power outage since its installation, and frankly I hope we never have to use it. It's an insurance policy against what has happened all too often causing distress over not having water (well pump) and the potential loss of food in 4 freezers & 5 refrigerators and the further annoyance of not being able to turn on the TV & see the news. Expensive insurance - Yes, but it's comforting to know that when (not if) the power goes, our Generac will come alive!

The generator has been right on schedule with the test runs each week and ran well when my installer initially tested it. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars yet is because it hasn't truly been tested in reality yet.... we haven't yet lost power and had our "smart" generator automatically turn on. If we do and it does, for as long as necessary, I will enthusiastically give it 5 stars!

After ordering our generator I found out on the Generac website there is an offer I get the warranty extended 2 years if you contact Generac before you order. It seems to me if you buy the product new from an authorized dealer you should be treated the same.
