I have a 2021 LG tv so compatibility is not an issue but no explanation is given whether to use the TV or included remote. The included remote doesn't have a number pad so it must be for strictly audio use. Also the instructional video for this particular unit has been removed (not available) from the LG site...

It might sound good, but this was one of the hardest devices I have ever had to install. Not only does it NOT have a light to tell you if it is actually on but the little booklet isn’t clear about how to connect to your TV, and the phone App doesn’t seem to help at all. It took ages, and then “suddenly” it was connected. How terrifying when you feel challenged enough to screw things to the wall for that “huge” TV the wife wanted, but then this add-on was causing way more problems that the TV. I started to ask myself if we really needed this black box, when the new TV had better speakers anyhow. Maybe I have been spoilt with the new technology for yet simply fed me the codes and next steps, but this process was way “below” what I have become used to when I buy new electronics these days. Sorry guys, but you do need to do better for us clunks!

When I received the soundbar it was very easy and quick to get started and did not face any problems related to connectivity. The LG SPD7Y Soundbar delivers high-resolution audio with Dolby Atmos® and DTS:X and Meridian Audio Technology. This is really high tech technology that is not readily available especially at this cost and from such a reputed brand as LG. The sound quality was just perfect with the right mix and bases. It was also very convenient to control with the specially designed LG magic remote. The sound bar gives you a surround sound experience and helps you to get completely impressed into the experience that takes you to a new level of relaxation and satisfaction. I would certainly recommend this to anyone who is looking to upgrade their home entertainment system and get compliments from friends and family. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I didn’t realize how clean and simple looking the sound bar & subwoofer are. The looks might fool you because this combo packs a powerful punch. The package arrived in a L-shape box. The main components are just the sound bar & subwoofer. The setup was super easy virtually plug and play. The subwoofer is wireless so you can place it wherever you’d like. In my case, I placed it next to my sofa to achieve a more balanced and surround sound. The bass is very powerful if you select the “bass” setting. The “music” setting is more balanced overall if you choose to play music for a party. For my daily use, I find the “cinema” setting best tor movies & shows on TV. The design is very simple. The lines are clean and it isn’t anything flashy which I like. Overall, the sound quality exceeded my expectations. This setup is a huge upgrade to the stock TV sound even if your TV is a higher-end model.

Sadly, this soundbar is 3 years old. New old stock. Add on speakers are no longer available. Returned for credit after learning this.

I connected this system to my OLED TV, and the dolby atmos jumps out at you. A lot of bass for the background. A very clean and clear sound....KUDOS!!!!!

The soundbar makes all the difference in my TV watching experience. The TV is great but the speakers are lacking. Also, I plan to mount the TV above my fireplace and feel like the soundbar will be necessary.

Decent model fits our need. We got this one for the game room so it doesnt have to be super loud. Sound is average. Bass sounds good. A little bummed it isnt wireless.. only Bluetooth.
