Have not had a real chance to use the machine yet. We bought it because of the electric start feature, having wheels and a lot of features that seem to be advantageous for older people in moving it from one place to another and being smaller in size. I was impressed with the reviews and videos on this product.

This generator packs a lot of power and the electric start is a must-have!! Can easily be maneuvered by one person; however, it does weigh 107 pounds w/o fuel, so I'd recommend two people when lifting or lowering from an elevated surface. Great value and highly recommend.

The 5300V replaces a 25 year old Generac 4000XL. The extra power will help energize an additional circuit on my transfer switch. A little difficult adding oil with the supplied hose, best to use a fluid pump. Initially started and ran rough, but determined it just needed at "least" a gallon of gas to smooth out. The meter provides voltage, frequency and hours. These are important to ensure proper maintenance. Needed to buy a meter to determine the old generator was out of spec for frequency. The first tell was flickering incandescent bulbs. Very satisfied with the build quality, all nuts and bolts tight. Removing the ground jumper was also very easy. Overall, I would recommend this generator, specially at the price.

Love this generator. I shopped around for a couple of weeks before deciding on this one . Great power for it's size . It runs the fridge , AC window unit and everything else we need to survive another hurricane power outage . One of my neighbors saw it and went out immediately to get himself one. Westinghouse, thank you for an outstanding product !!

Purchased late Dec. 2021. My new Wgen 5300s is everything I need for portable emergency power. Added gas and oil, it started on the first pull and purrs like a kitten. Very impressed with how quite it is too and the confidence of Westinghouse quality and great pricing!! Thanks for a fine product.

I bought this generator in preparation for storm season. I've never owned a generator and everything I've heard about them made me nervous to buy. However, the clear and concise instructions accompanied with the ease of operating this equipment has given me and my family the confidence to go beyond an emergency response and even wheel it around for weekend jobs.

I received my new WGen5300s Westinghouse generator this week. After installing the feet and wheels, adding oil and gas, and connecting the battery, it started on the first attempt. After some electrical work on my home was completed, this generator powered my entire home. This will be helpful for us since we live in a rural community with lots of trees. The last storm we had, our power was off for almost a whole day. We lost most of the food in our refrigerator. This generator will pay for itself if we have several outages. The directions are very well written and helpful.

I bought this generator based on the recommendation of a friend who also purchased one. It was easy to set up and after putting in the oil and fuel was able to start it after two pulls of the cord. I haven't had to use it yet but I'm quite confident it will serve my needs when required.

Bought this generator last month and it is perfect for my needs. Have it connected to my house when we have an electrical outage which happens frequently where we live. Runs great and the electric start is a wonderful feature. It was recommended to me by a salesmen. Compared to other portable generators with all the features the price would be hard to beat. Definitely would recommend.

We bought this generator as our first generator and so far we've impressed. Super easy assembly (wheels) and relatively lightweight (with no gas). Followed directions for first use, and after adding oil and gas, this was easy to fire up. We let it run for an hour as prescribed and we were pleasantly surprised by how quiet it was in relation to another generator we borrowed. Looking forward to hooking this up to the house to see how well it performs overall.
