Looking at this in person once it arrived, I could tell immediately that it was extremely well-made, sturdy and a serious piece of machinery. The operation is straight-forward, just a couple simple steps and you're powering several devices/appliances at once. Plus, the built-in handle and wheels make moving it around the property a breeze. Great product!

I recently purchased this following a several day power outage. It is exactly what I need before the next one happens. I have rated it as a 4 because it is too early to tell how well it will perform during an outage but if it starts up as it did on first try, I will be all set and would give it a 5..

After hours of research and reading too many reviews to count, I decided on the WGen5300S as the perfect addition to my disaster prep. This generator has a better fuel/hour ratio than most other brands. It also includes great features that others don't such as the 120/240 selector, both transfer switch and RV hookups and the digital display. All this for just a bit more than other brands. I feel really good about the next power outage, but must say that I hope I don't need it. Well done Westinghouse!

Wheel kit was easy to assemble. Easy to add oil with nice funnel provided. No mess! Battery was charged and it started right up on first try. Easy for wife to start with electric start when I am at work if power goes out. Ran quietly for a big generator. It has a lot of nice features and the covered plugs is a great feature. Well made!! Happy with purchase experience. Arrived in store in 3 days.

First of all the generator was delivered in superb condition. Not a scratch. I bought this generator for a limited house backup to power several freezers and refrigerators in case of an electrical outage. Also plan on using generator at remote fishing camp. The outlets on this generator will supply everything I need to power my electrical needs in case of a power outage. The Data center is also a bonus. With one exception, this generator was very easy to setup. The oil fill was the most difficult. The funnel provided helped tremendously. After the setup, the generator started right up using the electric and hand start. I'm very pleased with this purchase.

I was gifted this from a family member to be prepared for the impending hurricane season which they predict is going to be the worst we've seen (I don't know about that!) But nonetheless, I do want to be prepared because Katrina is still burned in my brain, and almost three weeks without electricity.....yeah, not doing that again. I'm so grateful for having this to be safe and comfy if such should happen. Thanks, Sis! :)

With severe weather more common these days, decided to purchase a generator for back up power, especially in the cold climate. We've had the generator a short time, but so far it has lived up to our expectations. Easy to assemble, easy to operate and move from place to place.

I bought this generator for home backup power and am very impressed with the quality. The generator arrived promptly and in good shape. Assembly is a breeze and the oil needed comes with the generator. The oil funnel included makes adding oil easy and mess free. After assembly I started it, which only took one pull on the cord. After following the break-in instructions, I load tested my generator and everything works as it should. The data center display is very clear and helpful, especially for the maintenance reminders. I also appreciate the manual being well made, with good information clearly laid out. Anyone who's dealt with poorly written or vague manuals will know how wonderful a good manual is. This generator has the quality you would expect from Westinghouse and I expect to have this product for many years to come.

Decent design and starts easily. Sadly, mine tends to run a little rough and noisy when loads come on and off even with only half load. Does not seem normal. It arrived in an almost totally demolished box with only 1 nylon strap and bottom was completely broken open. Delivery folks recorded the damage in there system for me. I hope it gets better after a short break-in period and more oil changes.

I bought this in the summer for this winter to assure that my animals and children including a baby would be kept warm and safe this winter when we loose power. We were extremely disappointed when we discovered that within a minute or less of being started it shuts off. Neighbors tried to help but to no avail, even someone who is good with small engine repairs tried to get it started. They suspect there may be an issue with the carburetor. This is brand new and with all the great reviews we are disappointed to be sitting here without power.
