Lot of features although not started the unit yet.

I purchased this a month ago and just took it out of the carton on 11/29/20. Looks well built and have not started it yet as there was damage to the alternator cover from mishandling or packing before shipping. Will request a new cover before starting.

Think it'll work well

Plan to use the 240 amp plug. Didn't work as I had expected when I purchased. The 120/240 switch chooses whether u want the 240 plug or the other plugs to get power. It does NOT *change* the wattage going to get locking plug. Now that i know this I'm good. I wish the screw to drain the fuel from the carburetor stuck out more so it was easier to get a hose or funnel under it before the fuel starts pouring out.

Easy starting

I bought this as back-up to my home stand-by generator, which broke down. It will take some time to get the stand-by replaced, so I needed a generator just in case of power failure. I like that it starts on the 1st or 2nd pull of the starter cord. I'm confident that my wife will be able to start it by herself if I'm not around when it's needed.

So easy to start!

I have shoulder issues for now and knew I would probably not be able to pull start a generator. After researching various brands, my wife and I decided on this Westinghouse electric start 5300c. We are very pleased with how simple it was to get it up and going! With hurricane season just around the corner, we feel better knowing we will have back-up power if ever needed. Thank you, Westinghouse!!

Nice Generator

I bought this generator to replace a 15 yr old one that died just before our last power outage.Great instructions on assembly and operation, the only problem I had was the two nuts welded to the frame on the choke side were not lined up with the holes in the frame causing the bolts holding the foot on that side to cross thread( I was afraid I was going to break the bolts) but they eventually seated.Otherwise I would have given 5 stars. Started right up and after adjusting the choke it purred like a kitten ( my old one roared like a lion). I'm now ready for the next power outage up here in the cold northeast.

Nice generator but a little louder than stated

Besides being little louder than stated (85db next to it and 75db 25 ft away according to Sound Meter app) it is a very nice generator. Ran smooth at break-in and no significant change even with heat gun (1200w) turned on. Easy to move around but it might take two people to load/unload it (at least in my case).

WGen5300s

Seems OK after starting and running for the break in period. 3stars because it did come with a large dent in the windings cover. They had to have packed it that way from the factory as the box wasn't even creased. It also appeared they painted it with the dent because it had no scratch, scrape, paint chip, nothing. Not great quality control.

Out of the box, all the features I want. Best $

I'd give it a 5 star if I run it for a few years. we all get excited and review something 5 stars when we get what we want....this is a great built, feature filled generator. Runs all we need in our home, wifi, refrig, lights, oil furnace. Running on propane only, to avoid issues with gas. It started up after 7-8 pulls, be sure to choke it even on propane. I like the little start up pics on the tank. I have my generator set up on my circut board, so I throw the switch and power up the house when power goes out. Superb buy! I hope it last as I will service it as suggested. 3yr warranty, seems very good.

Excellent Generator

Used to power my 27FT Class C RV powers everything no problem each gallon lasts about 5 hours if the AC is not used. If it is used a full tank will run the AC for about 8-10 Hours. No AC in use then you will get close to 20 Hours run time from the generator. Overall a great purchase I would recommend you buy this model its great.
