Like others here, I am replacing an old Dyson and this is the first vacuum I've found that comes pretty close to the Dyson when it comes to suction. I wish the vacuum was a little wider, but it doesn't kill me to make a few more passes. This Shark is noticeably lighter in weight, which is great. The plastic feels 'cheaper' and not as sturdy as the Dyson. I don't know how long this machine will last but it won't get rough use with me, so hopefully it will go a long time. It has a scent puck that evidentially must be used for the machine to work. I haven't noticed any detectable scent so I suspect it's a way to add an additional money stream from the consumer for the life of the vacuum. They aren't real expensive so I'll suck it up and buy them twice a year. The cord is a little shorter than the Dyson, but the Shark is not as loud. All in all, I like this vacuum and while I don't think it's better than the Dyson, it is a close second for a much more affordable price. So far, I'm happy with this vacuum.

This was my fourth Shark and a huge disappointment!! I took it back immediately after attempting to assemble it. It was definitely a pitiful, cheaper made version! I wish I had seen it assembled before buying and I wouldn't have gotten it ! I wish I could purchase one exactly like the first one I bought. It's still working great, but I like to always have a backup vacuum. (I broke my second one. The third one just didn't have the type of rollers I needed, and I gave it away.) Thankfully I was able to get a full refund.

Let me preface this by saying that I have a houseful of kids, plus a pug and yellow lab (SO MUCH HAIR), so it's a tall order to ask a vacuum to keep up. I need a vacuum that can do WORK and let me tell you, this is not that vacuum. I have bought exclusively Shark vacuums for as long as I can remember. This one looked good on paper and the reviews looked good, but as I have used it over the past several months, I have gotten to the point where I absolutely HATE it. It's heavy, cumbersome, won't fit under furniture and does a terrible job. The suction is poor and I feel like my carpet is never clean. The "self cleaning brush roll" clogs with dog hair every time I use it, and sucks my rugs up inside it where I can't vacuum them at all. Every other Lift Away vacuum I have owned allows you to lift the tank off the wand completely so you can maneuver under furniture, but this one only lifts off the powerhead to use the hand tools on the hose. Not being able to get underneath things kind of defeats the benefit of the lift away, right? The only redeeming quality of this vacuum is the odor neutralizer cartridge. It is a great feature that I really like and it makes the room smell nice after I have vacuumed, which is great because the floor is still filthy, so at least it smells good.

Does not work as advertised. I purchased this vacuum for the specific reason that the power canister would detach from the power head allowing cleaning under some furniture and cabinets. Turns out that this is probably the only Shark that does not do that.

If suction is important move on to another vacuum. Purchased due to owning an older model previously. First impression was not good as when vacuuming it was way to easy to push and pull. I vacuumed thoroughly over my family room with the shark. Then went over once with my old Bissell. See pictures. Yes I know you won't ever get every bit of dust/ dirt or pet hair. See pictures, the lack of suction plays a big role in my review. Recommend going with one with brushes and not a Shark! I was hoping it would be as good or better than the previous Shark owned. Amazingly it will not allow my pictures of the Shark what it had picked up vacuuming the same room twice. Or the Bissell vacuuming the same room the 3rd time. Save your money!

I had a Shark Rotator Vacuum for about 11 years until I had to replace it two years ago. Bought another Shark that was a clunky awkward piece of junk that I sent back. So I bought a cheap Bissell until Shark came out with a better sweeper. This vacuum is wonderful! It reminds me of the one I had for years. I sweep everyday because of two shedding golden retrievers so I am hard on sweepers. Suction is strong, it's self propelled and maneuvers well around furniture. You won't be sorry!

I waited for a month of use to review this as I was skeptical of the quality upon receiving this vacuum and unfortunately I was right. This is a flimsy model compared to my Shark's that I've used for the past 13 years. It whistles where the handle meets the pole when you pull back on it so the suction does not stay consistent. Photo enclosed so you can see the gap when you pull the vac back. I don't anticipate this lasting and am contemplating returning. I also have to do more passes on a hardwood floor compared to my last model but that could be due to the whistling. If you use your vacuum sparingly compared to me (daily ) you may love this. I do love the brush roll and how you don't have to take hair off of it that is nice. The duster attachment is amazing as well for my allergies and the odor neutralizer smells really good.

Strong suction…never knew just how much dirt was in the carpet until using this vacuum.

First thought is it works very well. Does stairs better than the old one.
