GP7500e

Live in rural area and lose power at least once a year. Wanted portable generator that would power well, fridge/freezer and heat. Generac 7500e fit the bill after reviewing other generators. easy to use and was able to combine it with a manual transfer switch for the house.

Exceptional Product

The generator arrived in perfect condition. The packaging was outstanding. It took about 20 minutes from the time it was it was uncrated until it was running. It was connected to my 2100 square foot home and it ran the whole house. That included a 5 ton AC, electric clothes dryer, lights, ceiling fans, chest freezer, refrigerator, water well pump, TV's and yes even the microwave...................the whole house. It never "bogged" down or missed a beat. Noise is moderate....but with doors and windows closed with the TV on I never noticed it. It came with an extra air filter, fuel filter, some Sta-Bil fuel treatment and 2 spark plugs which I thought was a very nice touch. It is heavy but well balanced and easy to move about. Great product for a reasonable price.

Reliability

Just finished a 10 state tour delivering HighMont Beef to the western states and the Generac XD-5000-E ran perfectly. We had it in a ventilated stock trailer and fuel consumption was minimal and performance was excellent. I do agree that noise level requires ear protection or a muffler but otherwise this generator did what I hoped it would. It ran four large freezers without fail. Thank you Generac!

hard to move

I give this 17500E a 5 star rating. The only con I have is the portability. I have to move the gen. around. I mounted a heavy duty caster with brake the second day I owned it , this totally changed the portability, I can move it around with one hand. Also I believe the handle needs to be adjustable so you don't have to do a shoulder lift to get it rolling.

Overall Good Generator for the Price

I purchaed the 7500E about 9 Months ago, overall the Generator has been great and very reliable. I only had two issues, the first issue happened 20 hours after initial startup. When the engine wouldn't start due to a valve problem. (Repaired under warranty). The second problem was a build up of Carbon which prevented the engine from rotating. The second problem occured after 959 hours and was not covered under warranty. It cost be a little over $110.00 to repair. Other then those two issues the Generator has been great.

very good value for the price.

very easy to set up and started right up. only problem I found was trying to find out how much oil the motor holds. did not find it in the manual. put oil in and kept checking dipstick until it was full. that was the only flaw I can find with it.noise level is a lot less than the generator it is replacing. if you need a big generator I would recommend this one.

More Power!

This unit has 120 Volt outlets as well as 1-30 Amp 120/240 Volt twist lock outlet. With the 30 Amp outlet you can run More Power! The electric start and pull start are fantastic. The best of both worlds. Just follow the recommendations from the owners manual and carefully select your electric loads and anyone can have emergency power safely. More Power!

With great power comes great responsibility. This generator has you covered.

I purchased a new (to me) home approximately one year ago that is set up for a back-up generator so I decided to get one. Mostly I was concerned with the well pump and heat if we lose our power as we live in Maine. I really didn't want to worry about overloading the generator and picking and choosing what to power up so after calculating what would be on the generator circuit if it was in use, I did my research in the 7500 watt power range. The GP7500E was the best rated in the price range I was willing to spend. The reviews were excellent and my wife's cousin who is and electrician confirmed the value for the money with the Generac brand. I bought it and had it assembled within an hour of getting it home. The electric start is a luxury I didn't require but am very happy with it. Once fired up, I ran the test of the generator circuits and to my delight it did everything I wanted it to do and more. No hiccups with the power or transfer. I can now be stranded in my house and not worry about heat, water or food going bad. I plan to use it on a regular basis out in the barn to keep it fresh and ready because nothing gas motorized likes to sit and not be used especially with todays gas. It states in the directions to NOT use E-85 gas so take note of that if you live where you can't get regular unleaded. This unit is also heavy so get help when it's still in the box. I'm not sure how heavy but nomenclature on the box says "180 - 225 lbs". Enjoy

Initial impression of 7500E

After a tornado last November left us without power for 3-1/2 days, I decided to take the leap and install a transfer switch and purchase a portable emergency generator. I researched and looked at a lot of brands but always found myself coming back to Generac. I decided on the 7500 E and purchased it at a local big box store and took it home. Packaging was excellent and everything was in pristine condition out of the box. I inspected the frame and it is a very rugged design which I believe will give many good years of trouble free service. 30 minutes later I had it assembled, oil & gas added, and it started immediately when I pushed the start button. It is smooth running, quieter than I though it would be for its size, and easier to move around than I thought it would be for its weight, thanks to the sturdy fold down handle and wheels. I ran some garage loads on it to break it in and the voltage held steady at 119.8 volts regardless of load. I haven't used it in an emergency situation yet, but it performed exactly as advertised right out of the box. I am 100 % glad I bought this generator and I am very satisfied with my choice so far. I would recommend this generator to anyone who is looking for ease of assembly and more than enough power to keep them comfortable in any outage. Hopefully we won't have another tornado any time soon, but with this machine I am confident that we will be ready for whatever nature throws at us.

It’s a great generator,

I read some of the reviews, I disagree with what they say about the generic generator. If you’re reading the manual, every three months, you’re supposed to run the trickle charger for X amount of hours. My battery is 2 years old no problems. It starts every time not sure why they put a pull cord on it.
