Recommend the GP8000E to power a home

The GP8000E works well for running our whole house. We had an outage for 2 days and were able to run our whole house without any issues. We have a well water pump, AC, refrigerator, freezer, lights, etc. We did not encounter any issues. The portability works well for moving and storage.

Save your money

What a waste of money. Worked great for the first month, now it won't stay running for more than 20 minutes at a time. Any time you put a load on it, it dies. This seems to be especially true if you have to use it on hot days. (Which when you're using it on an RV is when you need it the most).

Convenient

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This thing is awesome! The Tru Fuel feature is super convenient. It’s is pretty heavy but it has wheels to move around when needed. So far it works well, I don’t need a generator frequently but the convenience is great.

My Generator

This generator is a beast, I haven’t had a power outage yet but I ran it for 12 hours on a tank of gas just to try it and it didn’t miss a beat, I could run anything in the house with no problems, it’s a little expensive but anything that’s worth having usually is especially in the winter months in Michigan and I am so glad I have a backup plan 😊

Electric start, Tri Fuel

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Generac GP9500E is a portable generator capable of using gasoline, liquid propane or natural gas (Tri-fuel). With electric start and wheeled cart, this generator is easy for anyone to use. 9.5 hour run time on gasoline, (7.5 gal) 4.5 hours on a 20lb propane tank (when used at 50% power). Used a CO2 sensor to automatically stop and alert user to dangerous levels. Included are engine oil, battery, and 4 foot LP hose with regulator. Weighs in at 219 lbs and includes a 3 year limited warranty. Has (covered) 2 standard 120v 20 amp plug receptacles, one 120/240v 30 amp twist lock receptacles, and one 120v/240v 50 amp heavy duty outlet. HomeLink manual transfer compatible. This generator replaced our old one that was not push start- what a pain in the butt. This one is easy enough for anyone to switch on- not just strong people. Smooth running and much quieter that our previous portable. The ability to run three different fuel sources is just fantastic. MADE IN THE USA Can’t go wrong with Generac brand generators. Provides peace of mind that you can preserve freezer and refrigerator contents when the power goes out or for RV use. Very happy with this generator, highly recommended.

This generator is a beast

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Generac GP9500E Tri-Fuel is a fortress of reliable portable power. It stands out for its substantial output, multi-fuel adaptability, and safety focus. While it leans into simplicity over tech-savvy features and isn’t the lightest or most efficient, it packs an outstanding value for serious backup power needs.

Poor Warranty Assistance

Purchased this portable generator, had a problem with it after 15 min. of running.. Called for assistance and No One would come to my house to repair it. They only would come if it was a standby generator. I like Generac Products but my was 450 pounds and I could not service it myself. Plus it was under warranty.

Great, dependable product

Purchased to replace a 12 year old Generac 6500 that I use for emergency power. As I live along the Gulf Coast it doesn’t take a hurricane for us to loose power. Ran 8 days on generator power Zeta and the ol’ Generac didn’t miss a beat. After quick final assembly, oil and fuel this new unit fired up on the second pull. Looking forward to not having to concern myself about power loss for another 13 years!

A Life-Saver!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We’ve lost power four times this summer due to intense Philly storms, and I can honestly say the Generac Tri-Fuel Portable Generator 50ST came in clutch every single time. Setup was straightforward, and the tri-fuel option (gasoline, propane, or natural gas) gave us flexibility depending on what we had on hand. We mostly ran it on propane, and it powered everything we needed — fridge, lights, fans, and even the Wi-Fi — without breaking a sweat. The runtime is solid, and the peace of mind it gave us during outages was worth every penny. It’s not the lightest piece of equipment, but it’s built to last and easy to move with the wheels. Noise level is totally manageable for a unit this powerful. If you live in an area prone to storms or unreliable power, this generator is an absolute game-changer. After this summer, I wouldn’t be without it.

Great Features

I bought the GP8000E to replace my Honda 7000 that was over 25 years old. The setup was relatively straight forward except for attaching the battery cables. When I unclipped the zip tie holding the battery leads for shipping, I didnt notice that the power connector for the starter had become disconnected, probably when I cut the zip tie. I called Generac Support as the electric start was not working and they had me check all the connections including the power connector for the starter. I connected it and the generator started right up. I've only had it for a month but I love it as its easy to operate.
