We lost power due to a storm and it was going to be at least of couple of days before it came back. I bought this one in a pinch but hindsight I'm really glad I did. Very easy to operate and starting was a snap. I was easily able to run my two refrigerators and three freezers, with room for more. I'll get this tied into the house and be able to run my well and furnace as well. Great product!

I bought this after a hurricane last fall when my other generator acted up. Its a nice generator, starts on first pull. Was able to run freezers, refrigerators and coffee maker :). The only nuisance was the GFI. I had a refrigerator that kept setting it off so I couldn't power it. I understand it is code and safety, but when you need a generator its usually bad weather and GFI's don't like bad weather. All in all a great little generator.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’m so grateful for this generator. I live in NJ, on the shore, & have dealt with hurricanes. This will help save food in the fridge & can help keeping the house cool, if needed. At the very least charge devices so we can be in contact with family, if needed. It’s not too loud, & super easy to set up. I’ve wanted a generator for so long so I’m so happy with this!!

Helene came through, purchased this generator and it ran for less that 25 hours and wouldn't keep running. Took it to the local services center and had to pay $40 for them to evaluate it for repair. Makes me leery of investing in a whole home system through generac.

Our family bought 1 of these (as well as a few of other sizes) for back-up power after "Snowtober 2011" left us in the dark for 6 days. Our home has 2 heat pumps w/aux heat, and electric hot water. I wanted a unit that would be able to keep us warm, and this fit the bill. This is a BIG unit, upon delivery, 2 people are needed to assemble. We connected to the whole house through an interlock kit in the main panel and monitored load, we just used it for the first time after Sandy roared through- we ran our critical circuits as well as the hot water heater, TV/DVD, lighting and the stove. We ran each heat pump independantly due to load (10000 watt aux)The unit perforfmed flawlessly except for a resonating heat shield I had to creatively rectify. We put 95 hours on during a 5 day blackout. The sound level is tolerable for overnight use, overall very pleased with the quality, performance, ease of use (love the electric start!) and that they are Made in USA. We are electricians so we did all the work ourselves,

This is a great product for the price. The generator starts easily and runs fairly quiet. The fuel tank is huge and i can get about 8 hours out of a tank.I gave it 4 stars for only one reason and that is because of the wheels. This generator is very heavy and they should have sealed bearings on the wheels because when you have to move it on grass it is hard to push or pull.

I had this delivered to the house. The packaging was very good. No damage. I did all the assembly within a half hour. Filled it with oil and put some gas into the tank. I used the electric start and it started up with no problems. Temp outside was less than 5 F. I bought the electric start only for my wife so she could start it up if I wasn't home. The manual provides all information needed to star and maintain the unit.

Purchased the unit in the morning and had it fully loaded up and operating that afternoon. It handled 6kw of electric heat without any issue which would be the maximum load I would expect to have on this generator in winter conditions. I have a generator panel so have the ability to switch load as I need it including heat, water pump, refrigerator, freezer etc. While I'm not looking forward to the next major power outage I do feel much more prepared for that event.

I purchased the Generac GP8000E after doing alot of research with several other brands. I am not disappointed, from the moment I started to unpack the generator I noticed the quality of the packaging, which gave me confidence in the product right off the bat. The engineering made assembly very easy! You notice the quality in every part as you put this baby together. The quality shows that Generac and its associates genuinely care about the product they put out to the consumer.

We recently lost power for 10 hours and this generator was just what I needed. We have a sump pump in the basement to keep it from flooding and this generator did the job with keeping the electric going. What a lifesaver. I am so happy that we purchased it. I wanted a Generac brand because they are made in America and have a great reputation. Semper Fi.
