The first time I used the fryer it smoked up the kitchen as if something was burning. And I did do the "prepheat" before using it to get the protective film off. I do have another air fryer that has the basket and that does not smoke at all. Will try to something else at a later time but right now not that impressed.

After cooking chicken wings and my house filling with smoke I did some googling to see if I was doing something wrong and I found several reviews with the same issue and a video showing that this air fryer actually runs 100 degrees hotter than it’s suppose to. This is complete garbage and I’m returning it and looking in to a better option

Purchased about a year ago. Worked for a little while but shortly thereafter we noticed our toast was not coming out evenly toasted and it was taking longer to toast. We rarely used it for anything besides toast and reheating leftovers. This product is a TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY!! The company should do a recall for a defective product and refund all of our money considering the number of defective products that have been reviewed on this site alone.

I received the Power XL in short order and was excited to try it out. I did the preliminary break in. I loaded the two crisper baskets with chicken tenders and the last one with frozen fries. I set the temp at 400 and the timer at 20 minutes as that is the lowest setting. I preheated the oven for 5 minutes then inserted the food. After the timer went off, the fries were soggy and the chicken hadn't browned so back in the oven for about 15 minutes and the results were the same. Soggy fries and uncooked chicken. I boxed the thing back up and returned it to Sams. I didn't try any other features as I felt if it can't air fry fries or chicken tenders then it was a dud and had to be returned.

Well, I started off with 4 stars in this review, but dropped it to 3 because I realized that there was a few additional annoyances I had thought about while writing. I actually I like the unit, my children not so much, because it is analog. I do think it would have been nicer if it was digital. The most inconvenient issue with it is setting the time. You have to get down to eye level to see the markings. The only other complaint is that the door opens past 90 degrees and doesn't have any latch to secure it nor a safety switch to shut it off. This makes having a pot holder necessary to at least close it. Essentially not much more different than a conventional oven, just smaller with a couple features.

I bought this air frier, used it all the time and love it. Less than a year after getting it I noticed it was taking longer to cook thing and then day it didn’t seem to have enough power to make toast. I found one review online that said they had the same thing…it doesn’t continue to upreform the same for more than 7-8 months. I’m disappointed and will not be buying any other products from power XL. Customer service was no help either.

Not what I expected

This is the biggest piece of junk you could buy. Smokes like crazy and leaks grease from the bottom when the dip pan is empty. It takes three times longer to cook than a regular air fryer. I bought this because my regular Power XL air fryer needed replacement and expected this to be an upgrade. What a piece of junk, buyer beware.

When I fist received this air fryer as a gift, I loved it! It stopped working after only 5 months. As I did not have a receipt, Power xl was unable to resolve the issue. If you choose to buy this machine make sure to keep your receipt. You are going to need it!

After using the power xl about 5 times the unit wouldn't heat up enough. Even setting it to toast with a temp of 450 it would toast the bread.. instead it just dried it out after 15 mins of waiting for it to toast. I returned to Sam's Club for a refund.
