This is my second one .... First one wouldnt stay running took it to repair shop authorizes by Westinghouse they had it for a month couldn't get it to work . Westinghouse sent a new unit fired it up ran great. Put unit away 2 months later have a power failure pulled it out started it ran it for 5 mins plugged in my trailer it stalled and will not restart.

Great unit, has enough power for what I need when the power goes out, it's quieter than my older Ryobi model also. Packaging was great, easy assembly of wheels, comes with a small screw in funnel and oil for a fresh fill. Started right up, pretty easy.

Purchased as a back up generator for storm outages living in the northern rockies. Really enjoy the ease of use and push button start capability. Noise isn't as loud as we thought it'd be, but it definitely helps having a 50ft cord to run the unit behind our garage. Hoping to not use this generator very much but glad we have it to power the essentials in our cabin during an emergency.

So far I've only used it with propane to insure it's functioning and started right up on the third pull plugged a heat gun and worked great this generator seems to be functioning as it should. Unfortunately it came in all banged up from Sams club while the box was trashed I believe it was who ever emptied the oil to prepare it for shipping the frame is Bent, Dented, peeling, covered in oil and it looks like it was dragged around the warehouse very disappointed with the way I received this generator I'm just glad it functions like it's supposed to.

This generator has the capacity to run a refrigerator, cube freezer, microwave, small window AC, and some lighting. Easy to assemble wheels and antivibe feet. Comes with necessary tools to assemble and a spark plug wrench and oil. Only add about 3/4 of the oil. Added fuel and it started right up. After initial run of about 5 minutes let's sit for 5 minutes and check oil again. Should be right in the middle. This model has an electric starter, with battery, and also a hand pull cord. Follow the maintenance instructions and it should last forever.

Purchased portable unit to be used across two properties (one for more routine use and second for backup power when needed). Unit is easy to use, built robust, runs somewhat quieter than other brands, and mobility with built in handle & wheels. Happy overall.

I just received my WGen5300DFcv for my birthday. I really love the dual fuel option. This allows me options to have both ready at the drop of a hat. If I’m out of one, I’ll surely have the other. The propane running wattage is a slight bit lower but factor in cleaner burning for the carb and actually is quieter to run. All around excellent product. Now I’m waiting for my next outage. Extra bonus for the threaded funnel to fill the oil. Great touch guys!

I have owned this generator for two weeks and have not used it in an emergency yet, but I will tell you why I bought this one and not one from another company. It has all the features I need in a very well designed and compact product, plus it was very well priced for the size and quality. I very much like that it came with everything needed to begin using it except for gasoline. It came with oil, a complete owner's manual (on paper), and even a special funnel for pouring the oil into the engine. The wheels come with it and are very easy to install; just propped the frame on a brick. After adding gas to it, it started on the second pull and ran like a top. I am very happy to have this item since I live in a hurricane zone.

Bought after last power outage. Shopped and compared. Best value and best features. Trusted brand name. Easy to follow instructions. Loved the quick start paper (that I will keep handy.) Followed and hooked up refrg. lights and tv. Worked great. Totally ready.

In August our power went out after a storm and was off for 2 days. Our neighbor nicely lent us his so that we were able to power our 2 refrigerators a chest freezer and a few other essentials. That is when we decided we needed to have one of our own. He recommended an inverter generator since they were easier to start and more portable. We spent a lot of time reviewing both and after much on-line shopping and reading dozens of reviews, we decided that the Westinghouse WGen5300cv is what we needed. Both my wife and I are in our 60's-70's and our big concern was whether we would be able to start it. Many of the reviews on this generator mentioned an easy start. The portability of this generator was also a major factor in this purchase. It arrived completely assembled except for the back wheels and front "feet". The assembly of those took just minutes. Adding those made if very easy to move around. The handle to pull the generator folds up and down easily and has a nice foam grip. After putting oil and gasoline in it we gave it a pull and it started right away. My wife was very happy that she was able to get it started with such ease. Another thing that I like was the fact that the outlets on the side had covers. Murphy's law says we probably won't have our power go out now that we have purchased a generator, but after purchasing this, we feel confident that if it does, we will be all set.
