Perfect generator

Just received this generator and it is perfect. I see many reviews saying the generator end cover being damaged in shipping however that is just how it looks. The 5300 is perfect to run almost everything in our house. Finally looking forward to our next power outage LOL!

Easy to use, Starts Easy

After ready many different reviews of other I made the choice to purchase a Westinghouse Generator. Very pleased with my purchase. It started with only 2 pulls on the first time. I love the handle and wheels, makes it so easy to move around. The noise level is average compared to my old generator. This will run everything in my camper including Microwave and AC. Great Purchase!

Updating my original review.

Original review: ☆☆☆☆☆5 out of 5 stars. · 8 days ago So far, so good. Running this generator through the break in period. So far 3 hours in w/o any problem. Recommends this product ✔ Yes Finished the 5-hour break-in period W/O any problems! Connected it to my Transfer switch with 6 circuits and did some testing. I'm running this puppy on my fridge, oil burner and indirect HW heater, 65" and 50" TV's, Bascially every light fixture and a ceiling fan in my house. Garage door opener, 2 PC's both with 24" LCD monitors and various other low wattage devices plugged in. I'm using the 120/240 Volt AC, 30 Amp NEMA L14-30R Twist Lock Receptacle. There was hardly any draw on the generator much to my surprise :) with the load balanced almost perfectly on the transfer switch. I was going to buy the smaller WGen3600 Generator but figured it wasn't enough. Now I wish I purchased the 10 circuit transfer switch to add at least one of my A/C units. Overall this is an excellent product and highly recommended it. I'll post another review when we have our 1st power loss and can test it for a longer period of time.

It is working

Just bought the WGen5300s through the local Menard's. The generator arrived in good shape, no dings or missing parts. I've run it through it's break-in cycle and tested it with small test loads. It has performed without a problem. Bought if as insurance when the power goes out. Hopefully I won't need it.

Easy starting

I bought this as back-up to my home stand-by generator, which broke down. It will take some time to get the stand-by replaced, so I needed a generator just in case of power failure. I like that it starts on the 1st or 2nd pull of the starter cord. I'm confident that my wife will be able to start it by herself if I'm not around when it's needed.

Perfect balance for emergencies

Bought this for weather emergencies. Very easy assembly. Well built. Perfect balance of power, price, and portability. Not the quietest generator but that wasn’t high on my list. Enough power to keep essentials running for a few days if power is down.

Wgen-5300s generator

I bought this 3 weeks ago, took 3 weeks to deliver, came well packed, easy to assemble. tested OK but have not run for a long period of time yet. I will run it through a test soon to make sure it works well. Could be quieter. So far so good Love the battery start.

Appears very well made.

I bought this because I live in Florida. As soon as I opened the box you could tell this a very well made generator.Very compact and a lot better design than the one I used to have. Before I bought this model I reviewed it thoroughly and this Westinghouse generator had rave reviews. More than happy with it.

Perfect for Power Outages in Puerto Rico – Reliabl

Living in Puerto Rico, where power outages are common, the Westinghouse generator has been a true lifesaver for my family. As someone who works remotely and is also a full-time student, having reliable electricity is essential—and this generator delivers! It powers the entire house seamlessly, from lights to appliances, ensuring I stay connected and productive during outages. The price is economical, especially considering its performance and reliability. It’s also fuel-efficient, which is a huge plus. Highly recommended for anyone in need of a dependable backup power solution!

Initial Thoughts

A few thoughts upon receiving/opening the generator box: I feel like the oil fill cap should be metal, not plastic. It is at an odd angle and is too soft of a material -- the metal threads can destroy the plastic quickly. Also, it is a fairly lengthy break-in process, and I am guessing most people need the generator ASAP when they buy it. Otherwise, it seems to be a good purchase.
