Bought this generator as a back up after a storm to power a few household items. I was easy to unpack and add the wheels/legs. The product came damaged from shipping, but I contacted the customer service hotline and had a new piece sent to me immediately hassle free. I was very impressed on how great the customer service was and how responsive they were. I was kept in the loop throughout the process. I am glad I bought this generator!

I purchased the first one and it came with the generator cover smashed like i saw on other reviews. it was strange because the box was not really damaged. I took a chance and ordered another one. The new one came today and it was not damaged. This one did have oil in the box and on the frame of the generator though so i thought maybe the oil they sent had leaked but it did not, must have just been where they drained it from the factory. I put the legs and wheels on (very simple) and oil and gas, started on about the 3rd pull. Seems to run fine, i have high hopes that it will do good. I have not really tried to run anything on it except for a shop vac just to make sure it works. Will test it out a little this weekend though.I like the appearance and the weight. Cant beat the price on this either, hopefully this will be a good purchase.

its perfect for our family.We live in texas and we lose power couple times a year.its perfect for unpredictable power outages.easy to use.i learned how to hook it up myself so when my husband is away i can do it on my own.its not too loud either.we used it for a while to see how it works.Im really happy with my purchase!

I bought this generator to run our garage freezer and refrigerator when we have bad thunderstorms or the occasional ice storm. I am not especially mechanically minded, but the set up instructions were clear and easy. I had it ready to fire up within 15 minutes. It started on the very first pull. I let it run for an hour as recommended and then plugged in the freezer. No problems. It seems to handle everything with ease. I can't comment on durability, as I just got it and have only run it the one time, but it looks and feels to be very sturdy. I've been very pleased.

110 plugs work good but could use 4 instead of 2, also can not get the whole house plug to work (L14-30). Bought one it didn't work so bought another and still doesn't work. also arrived with little dent in housing. will try customer service tomorrow

Boyfriend bought this for my house because we are always losing power in the area. He checked out many generators and after reviewing them all he said that the Westinghouse unit is the one to go with. The generator is easy to use and start. He hooked up a transfer box that I just run the twist lock cord to and throw a switch and we have power to the building. I was happy to find out that it powers almost everything in the house.

I just purchased the WGen5300sc and I could not be pleased. Once I got it out of the box and read the clearly written directions, it came right together, tools included as was the oil!! As soon as I hooked up the battery, I pressed the start button and it came to life straight away! VERY pleased. I feel good that I will be able to to keep my house going, heated, during a snowstorm.

Occasionally in South Carolina we have heavy ice storms and even a heavy snow, resulting in power outages. I've never owned a generator but decided it was time to purchase one. This Westinghouse is ruggedly built and has the capacity to handle all the appliance needs I will plug into it.

I purchased the WGEN 5300S based on the Westinghouse reputation and It did not disappoint. I'm thrilled I made this decision for back up power to my house. It arrived as expected and was easy to assemble with the included wheel kit and tools. I read through the manual to learn how to operate it for the first time. Once it was filled with oil and gas I followed the break in instructions by running it with no load for one hour then 30 min under load. It was easy to start using the push button toggle electric start and pull start as a back up. It started easily using both methods and ran flawlessly. I also felt it was much quieter than expected and compared to other brands I seen and heard running.

I bought this generator because our power has been going out none stop here in Ca. We absolutely love the many features and the easy use of this generator! Would recommended to anyone who wants a great generator with easy instructions to understand.
