The battery life is quite bad only lasting 3 hours on full battery in performance mode, but overall I do enjoy the portable pc you guys made. Being able to play "most" PC Games on a decently sized handheld is just so cool to me, and without being restricted to just one platform is absolute perfection

The only thing that is keeping me from giving the ROG Ally a 5 star review is that purely due to the fact that it uses OEM gpu drivers that are based on an AMD driver from 2024. This seems to cause some stability issues with unreal engine and unity based titles leading to driver crashes. This can render some games totally unplayable due to the frequency of the crashes while some only crash once in a while. From what I can tell a larger memory allocation for the GPU as well as ditching armory crate in favor of G helper seems to mitigate this issue to some extent. That said, over all this is a really neat product that I. Have been using for a while now. I take it with me in my back pack to use on my lunch break at work and the portability has me never wanting to use a laptop for a similar use case ever again due to its ease of use and overall decent performance in some pretty demanding titles like hogwarta legacy or cyberpunk.

Got this the 2 weeks ago to dip my toe in pc gameing and so far this little dude have been a blast. I've been playing on it every night since i got it. Had to do a lot of research on how to set things up but i haven't touched a pc since windows 98 so i had a lot of learning to do. It light wight and feels good to hold. Its runs my games with no problems.

Has a lot of cool functionality but that functionality is pointless without power. Besides the google cloud, this is the most underpowered handheld on the market and I’m very limited in what I can play at a quality performance level or just outright not at all. I’m surprised how ugly old games like fallout 4 look on it. I’m sticking with the steam deck

Little bit of a learning curve but very hapy overall. I am havjng a problem with Asus recognizing any sim cards for extended memory. So far this doesnt seem to be an option. So you are stuck with the amount of memory you have with purchase or you can buy more jn the cloud.

I think this is soooo much fun! It is cheaper than the MSI Claw and the Steam Deck. While reviews I read about those portable systems sound like elite gamers report those as being the best ever. To an everyday person like myself, this is beyond perfect! It is half the price of the others AND to my knowledge it is the only one you can play both Steam games and Xbox games on. I have heard you can also play PlayStation Now games or PlayStation Next too. I just have not tried that myself. I have been playing Halo complete and it has been fantastic. I have played for hours, never had the battery die. The graphics are great. You figure, tons of people bought the Nintendo Switch OLED in this same price point and do not get even half the variety of games available as this system gives you immediate access to. I think the only downside, (if there is one at all.) You do have a bunch of updates to load right out of the box and that takes a bit when you are dying to try out the system. All I can tell you is, it was worth the wait! I am beyond happy and encourage you to try this one first. It is like having a full.on gaming computer in your pocket. Oh yeah, it works off of a Microsoft Windows system so you can ditch your tablet, this will do it all! Movies, music, surf, yes! You will save a ton of money and you won't be disappointed! Give it a shot.

I'm very impressed by this little piece of hardware. I didn't know what to expect because I'm use to high end 4k graphics. That being said, I've tried newer and older titles and some run better then others. But it's always a playable experience with good to great framerates. Some games run in medium 1080p, others I need to reduce the settings for a better frame rate. I love the ROG Ally. I have a huge steam library and the idea of having all the stores as opposed to just steam with the steam deck is awesome. Xbox game pass runs great on the deck there's so many games to play. Is this a laptop replacement? Depends on what type of laptop performance you expect. If you're a lower end pc user that casually games then yes, yes it can replace your laptop. If you like high end graphics it will not replace a high end laptop or desktop.(may replace your switch).It will however find a nice place in your gaming lifestyle. I love watching TV and gaming on the ally, I love travel with the ally, I love how the ally feels.5 stars asus you hit it out the park with the design and I look forward to what's to come with handheld PC's. I do recommend upgrading your solid state drive and skipping the card reader.

My occupation requires me to fly weekly to different places so traveling with a console or even a gaming laptop added to my work laptop was too much to carry. The Ally is great fit to meet that category to help out sometimes with extended stays in the hotel.

I bought my first Asus ROG yesterday, and I can't stop playing it! I did a little research before making my purchase and knew it would take some time to update everything, but I didn’t mind that much—patience is key. I'm surprised by how big and powerful this machine is! I only own regular consoles, but this thing is a beast!

I own a nintendo switch and was looking for a device were I can play my xbox games on the go. The Rog ally filled that need. I was skeptical at first but once I personalized the device and downloaded the games I wanted to play the system is great. I totally recommend it.
