We did not like this cake at all. I just bought it the day before a small family dinner. It has a VERY unpleasant artificial after taste. I would give it 0 stars if possible.

I have always loved coconut cake. This cake did not have much coconut on the outside or in the filling between the layers. Did not taste like the old creme cheese filling or icing.

I have bought this cake for years from Sam's. It's a family favorite. I buy them to freeze too since they stopped selling them year round as they freeze well. I wish they would bring this cake back year round. My only suggestion of improvemment would be to cut cake layers in half and layer the coconut cream filling more. Still a really good cake. This cake is definitely better with the buttercream icing they use.

I thought it would be like their coconut cupcakes although I haven't had any in a good while. I was highly disappointed the cake has a bitter taste to it. I would have brought it back but I have no transportation. I feel I wasted my money. The cake itself was moist unlike some of the other things I have purchased in the past.

I wish I never wasted any money on this. It's not real buttercream icing and besides the flake coconut, the flavoring is extremely artificial and overwhelming. The cake texture was also very weird. Don't waste your money and definitely do not serve it to any guests.

I looked so forward to trying this cake and now I regret biting into it. The icing was fine, but the cake was horrid. Whatever the filing was tasted like some crazy mixture of spices. It ruined the entire cake. Put pudding in the layers for moisture or layer with icing. Not that nasty concoction you presently smear in it!!!

Sam's use to have the best cocunut cakes, but this year it's the worst. Didn't notice how little coconut was on the cake until I got home and cut it. The filing between the layers was like uncooked cake batter with no favor. The layers were small. The icing had very little favor. Whoever prepared these cakes knew how bad these cakes were because they added too much coconut favoring to justify this was a coconut cake. Shame on Sam's for selling this. A waste of my $17.98. I won't make this mistake again by buying another cake from Sam's.

The cake was tender and moist only in the center. The frosting was tasted sweet with no other flavor and coconut was sparsely distributed only on the frosting. There was no frosting between layers. And there was a "after taste" that was not pleasant. While the price was good for the size, it was not even worth that due to the taste. I should have paid attention to other reviews stating the same. If you're a coconut cake lover, don't disappoint yourself by trying this one!

So they advertise this as having 6 layers of cake but it only has 3. Are they considering the frosting in between the cakes a layer, because to me a layer would be the cakes themselves. Very disappointed with the taste as well. Should have left it with a white cake and not a cake with coconut flavoring.

This is not a coconut cake, there was a coconut scent but no flavor. The cake was vanilla as was the frosting. The only coconut I saw was the flakes they put around the outside. Also, it was advertised as a 6 layer cake and was only a 3 layer cake. Would not buy again.
