Solid generator

Made it through the break in period. Changed oil. Could not get unit to start on propane. Contacted customer service, and they shipped a replacement propane hose assembly. This did not solve my starting issue. With the service cover removed, I noticed the choke lever did not return to the open position after rotating the selector to the propane run position. Moved it to fully open by hand, started on first pull. Attached a zip tie to the lever, drilled a small hole in cover to extend zip tie through. Now this 65 year old mechanic can start his generator without suffering injury.

Second as good as the first

I bought my son the dual fuel 2500 over a year ago. It has been used several times by him to keep his critical cancer medicine refrigerated during power outages. Propane lasted him two full days. I just bought myself the same model and am performing the break in as I speak. Two successful purchases and highly recommend this generator and love the propane option.

Very satisfied.

Bought this inverter generator to replace a traditional one that fried my led fridge lights for its more stable energy wave. Also planning to use the propane fuel only so after use it can just be stored. This is required equipment in florida hurricane country. It started right up out of the box for its break in. Completely satisfied so far.

So far So good!

We are currently using it with propane with our 2017 Open Range RV. It's nice and reasonably quiet compared to a standard generator. We can run everything except our AC with it so we plan on purchasing a second to connect the 2. But one will work for alot of the year.

Just what I needed

The 201183 has been excellent so far. Easy enough to lug around without wheels, but still packs enough of a punch to save the day during an outage. I may get another and the parallel kit to really be set with double the power until one breaks and then a full set of replacement parts for the one that doesn't. I read several reviews that said it was very difficult to start for the first time with propane - that was not my experience. It was no more difficult than any other similar machine I've used. Took no more than 6 pulls, if that, and has been only 2-3 for every start since then.

Well designed

Received it, unpacked, actually read the instruction, put oil in it then did a test run with propane to make sure it worked properly before the power went out and I needed it. Slowly pulled to prime the engine as instructed, flipped from choke to propane run pulled a few more time and it fired right up. Very quiet on idle/standby. Becomes a bit more noisy under a load but is still tolerable. Haven't used it for hours and hours yet but anticipate no issues.

201183 2500W Portable Invervter Generator

Received the generator and it was as advertised. I removed the generator and packaging, followed the setup (add included oil) as directed and ran it initially for 4 to 5 hours on propane as that is all I intend to use. I primed it with 4 to 5 normal pulls on choke, switched to run and it cranked on the first try and ran smoothly and quietly as advertised for 4 to 5 hours. No complaints with the generator, but I wish there was a way to buy a stand alone open frame accessory to slide the generator into so I could use the easier to install open frame weather tent, vs. the more cumbersome model used for portable generators. Just a suggestion.

As advertised

My two friends bought this Champion dual fuel generator. When I put the oil in mine and hooked up my propane tank it started great, ran quiet and lived up to my buddies praise of this machine. I plan to use it on job sites and have available for any power interruptions. I am satisfied.

sweet little unit

So I already had a model 10023 3400 Watts duel fuel generator that I have used four or five years just when we have hurricanes here in Florida, probably only have about 45 hours on it but when I did its semi-annual start up prep for the season, it took about 5 minutes to take the cover off, make sure the exhaust was clear, connect the LP tank and switch it on a listen to it purr for 45 minutes and know I am ready should the power go out. I just recent y bought this model 201183 2500 watt sweet pea as a back-up and a smaller unit to pack in the back of our truck for RV trips. I love duel fuel generators (I only buy Champion) with the ease and care free ability to use propane tanks rather than shlep gas can around, is a great plus plus. I was a little concerned with that this smaller unit did not come with an and electric start, I'm getting up there in years and pictured myself pulling something out while pulling the starter cord, but I read other reviews that said this was not an issue, and indeed out of the box oil it up, connect the LP tank one choke pull and then two easy soft pulls later and this unit too just purrs in that way that says Champion is the way to go
