As advertised

My two friends bought this Champion dual fuel generator. When I put the oil in mine and hooked up my propane tank it started great, ran quiet and lived up to my buddies praise of this machine. I plan to use it on job sites and have available for any power interruptions. I am satisfied.

Just what I needed

The 201183 has been excellent so far. Easy enough to lug around without wheels, but still packs enough of a punch to save the day during an outage. I may get another and the parallel kit to really be set with double the power until one breaks and then a full set of replacement parts for the one that doesn't. I read several reviews that said it was very difficult to start for the first time with propane - that was not my experience. It was no more difficult than any other similar machine I've used. Took no more than 6 pulls, if that, and has been only 2-3 for every start since then.

I would buy again

Not even into winter yet but recent powerful thunderstorms with high winds took out the power in my area 3 times from anywhere from a few hours to 15 hours. While everyone else is running out to get ice (like I also did) to prevent loss of refrigerated food, I'll be running my generator. This will keep my fridge, TV, and a light or two on. Since I am also a HAM radio operator it will also run my HAM radio equipment if needed at home or when out in the field. Set up and starting the unit for the 5-hour break in was easy! The key to easy starting is to follow the directions and prime the carburetor, once primed it started on the second pull. I was impressed with how quiet the unit actually is when running in the ECO mode. My nephew recommended this to me as he has the same one and is very happy with it - thanks for the tip nephew !

2500W Dual Fuel Inverter Generator

Start-up on propane was much easier then some other reviews. Runs quiet. CO Shield did shutoff generator during the 5 hour break in period in open backyard. Spark plug access door opening is small, which makes it difficult to pull off the spark plug boot.

Well designed

Received it, unpacked, actually read the instruction, put oil in it then did a test run with propane to make sure it worked properly before the power went out and I needed it. Slowly pulled to prime the engine as instructed, flipped from choke to propane run pulled a few more time and it fired right up. Very quiet on idle/standby. Becomes a bit more noisy under a load but is still tolerable. Haven't used it for hours and hours yet but anticipate no issues.

Overlanding with style

Receives my Champion 2500W Dual fuel generator today as a gift. Part number (201183). Initial impressions are good. We'll packagedand included everything you need to start using it. Added the 500ml of pre measured oil that Champion included in the box and connected to my 20 lb propane tank. Primed it by pulling starter rope while on choke 3-5 times and it started right away after switching the knob from chole to propane and pulling one more time. Going through the break in procedure right now. I will be using this generator at different elevations in Colorado so I have requested the high altitude jets. Also registered it for warranty. I am very happy with this unit. It's well built, doesn't skip a beat and will be providing me with the creature comforts I need while overlanding around the US. Thanks Champion!

First-Pull Starter!

I am IMPRESSED with my new Champion 2500 watt dual fuel inverter generator. The generator started on the very first pull and has started first pull ever since. It is compact and light, easy to bring along on road trips. I'm looking forward to taking it along on camping trips to keep my camp trailer lights on and batteries charged.

Don’t Buy A Honda

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Don’t waste your precious money on a Honda! Bought two of the 201183 inverter generators to use in parallel with my travel trailer. They work like a charm! I love how quiet they are and the dual fuel option. Stop looking at other generators reviews and buy this!

HAPPY SO FAR

After filling it with oil and following the process it would not start on propane but after running it a few hours with gas it fired right up with the propane, I am running 2 new full size side by side Frigidaire refrigerators and they only draw total of 1.2 amps, The voltage is 124 volts at the end of a 30 ft. 12 gouge cord. The generator runs very smoothly and quiet. I cannot hear it from 50 feet away.
