Great Little Generator

Easy to start (EZ start dial), lightweight, easy to store. Great to have during Florida's hurricane season. Dual Fuel makes it easy to have fuel on hand. Many features; CO shield, shuts unit off if CO is detected, Overload Reset button, Parallel Outlets if you need more more power/second generator.

It really works great

We looked and searched for a long time before purchasing this model. Duel Fuel is the most important factor, because we do not want to carry a container of gasoline on our camping trip. We performed all the break-in procedures before the first trip, and went on a 6-night trip with a travel trailer. The generator fired up easily with the trailer's propane tank, noise was tolerable and it did not bother other neighboring campers. The CO shield is a plus, it automatically shut off generator occasionally, so then we moved the generator to a more vented area. We ran it everyday for 1 to 2 hours, it generated enough (or far more than what we needed) electricity for the night to use in our trailer. Look forward to going more trips with it in the future.

Awesome little generator!

So far, I have only tested this out on propane, but it is really light and super quiet. You can have a conversation with it at your feet. I'm looking forward to having electric on our next camping trip. This is the second Champion Generator I've owned, but what keeps me loyal to Champion is the customer service. I needed a simple part on a unit out of warranty, and instead of charging me for it, they just sent it to me. I can't say this would happen again, but that one time made me a loyal customer.

Fast, reliable power when I needed it

Bought this in April 2003 and kept in the box until tonight. Thunderstorms knocked out power for several hours. Everything was in the box, unpacked it, read the manual on how to add oil, hook up the propane and starting. Instant power to keep the refrigerator humming. I was very happy with the ease of set-up, the performance out of the box and the cleanliness of using propane.

Works as expected

I purchased this inverter to run a 15K BTU A/C on my travel trailer using propane. The A/C is a 15K Coleman-Mach with Soft Start installed for this purpose. I pull this trailer with Chevy Suburban so I don't have space outside the vehicles to store a generator/inverter filled with gasoline, so I went with dual-fuel to run only propane. I followed the directions to fill with oil, hooked up the propane, three pulls on choke, then started with a single pull. Ran it in ECO mode for a few minutes to warm up then plugged into the trailer. I turned on the A/C to high and it started right up with the inverter set in ECO mode and automatically increasing speed to run the A/C. I ran the A/C for a couple of hours with the A/C cycling off/on and the inverter cycling the up and down in ECO mode. Quality looks great, documentation is good, so I expect the inverter will do what I need it to do without needing to use gasoline, but can run on gasoline if necessary.

Great, but missing something.

I only had it a day. It was very easy to set up. Watched the video about the 5 hour break in time and varying the loads. Which had me thinking why doesn't this have a simple hour meter to help with maintenance intervals. Also I didn't know before I ordered, but the parallel links to connect two generators together have square ends where other brands are standard round. I don't know if there is an adapter to work with my brother's non-champion generator. I'm using propane and it was easy to start. It is way quieter than my open frame generator.

Easy to use

Easy to use..... loaded it with oil, plugged in my propane gas cylinder and was able to start it very easy and quick. Was able to plug in my refrigerator, freezer, light, tv, fan and several phone chargers at one time without a problem. The propane gas tank lasted for 15 hrs. Just GREAT....

Does what I need

I wanted a descent wattage generator that ran on gas and propane. I pulled my 2500-Watt out of the box, looked at the quick start details. Put in the provided oil, connected a propane tank from my patio fire pit and pulled the start cord. That is all it took to have this clean looking quiet power source running like a champ. Two of my friends were at my place to witness it and have now purchased this model. Very satisfied!!

201183 2500W Portable Invervter Generator

Received the generator and it was as advertised. I removed the generator and packaging, followed the setup (add included oil) as directed and ran it initially for 4 to 5 hours on propane as that is all I intend to use. I primed it with 4 to 5 normal pulls on choke, switched to run and it cranked on the first try and ran smoothly and quietly as advertised for 4 to 5 hours. No complaints with the generator, but I wish there was a way to buy a stand alone open frame accessory to slide the generator into so I could use the easier to install open frame weather tent, vs. the more cumbersome model used for portable generators. Just a suggestion.

HAPPY SO FAR

After filling it with oil and following the process it would not start on propane but after running it a few hours with gas it fired right up with the propane, I am running 2 new full size side by side Frigidaire refrigerators and they only draw total of 1.2 amps, The voltage is 124 volts at the end of a 30 ft. 12 gouge cord. The generator runs very smoothly and quiet. I cannot hear it from 50 feet away.
