201183 2500W Portable Invervter Generator

Received the generator and it was as advertised. I removed the generator and packaging, followed the setup (add included oil) as directed and ran it initially for 4 to 5 hours on propane as that is all I intend to use. I primed it with 4 to 5 normal pulls on choke, switched to run and it cranked on the first try and ran smoothly and quietly as advertised for 4 to 5 hours. No complaints with the generator, but I wish there was a way to buy a stand alone open frame accessory to slide the generator into so I could use the easier to install open frame weather tent, vs. the more cumbersome model used for portable generators. Just a suggestion.

As advertised

My two friends bought this Champion dual fuel generator. When I put the oil in mine and hooked up my propane tank it started great, ran quiet and lived up to my buddies praise of this machine. I plan to use it on job sites and have available for any power interruptions. I am satisfied.

So far so good!

I use this with LP only for travel safety and cleanliness. So far so good! We have a tiny travel trailer and just need to run a space heater when we go to bed and get up to get dressed, charge our power pack, etc., so this generator is more than sufficient. Glad we have it as backup for home when the power goes out too--this will keep us running. The user manual could use some improvement in terms of more explanation that doesn't require previous expertise in electrical matters. Had to Google some things to understand; the user manual for a consumer-grade product like this shouldn't require this much technical background. Not dumb, just not an electrician.

First-Pull Starter!

I am IMPRESSED with my new Champion 2500 watt dual fuel inverter generator. The generator started on the very first pull and has started first pull ever since. It is compact and light, easy to bring along on road trips. I'm looking forward to taking it along on camping trips to keep my camp trailer lights on and batteries charged.

Be Prepared

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We've had power shut down at home multiple times this winter already. We've only successfully achieved the "break-in" of the unit but so far, could not be happier. The unit idles when the load is low and ramps up to produce the needed power as demand increases. It's relatively quiet, especially at lower rpms. Using propane, it did take some effort to get it started. Fortunately, we had read other reviews and anticipated it could take patience. Once started, we've had no problems. We feel so much better prepared for our now crazy weather and the impacts it's sure to have on our grid.

Very clean units

I just bought a pair of these so that I could them. both together using the parrell kit to create 30 amps to run the A. C on my RV, I followed the directions and they started right up.l, Very nice units and will fit very nicely in the front compartment of my fifth wheel. Pleased so far.

Just what I needed

The 201183 has been excellent so far. Easy enough to lug around without wheels, but still packs enough of a punch to save the day during an outage. I may get another and the parallel kit to really be set with double the power until one breaks and then a full set of replacement parts for the one that doesn't. I read several reviews that said it was very difficult to start for the first time with propane - that was not my experience. It was no more difficult than any other similar machine I've used. Took no more than 6 pulls, if that, and has been only 2-3 for every start since then.

I would buy this product again!

I bought this generator because I'm an infrequent user, and liked the idea of running from propane for a cleaner run. We used it for the first time over a 4 day weekend, and I'm very happy with it. It does seem a little louder than I expected, but not much.

Awesome Generator

We just had our power shut off for 4 days and we needed a generator for the next time this happens. My business partner loaned me his Champion 2500 watt inverter generator. I used for a few days and it was incredibly easy to start and was very quiet. I liked it so much I bought my own except I purchased the dual fuel model just in case gas is hard to come by during the next emergency

Yes and I am

I purchased this unit about a year ago model 200962 and used it many times when we are camping including dry camping. Our RV trailer has the propane hookup so it makes it very easy to get up and running. It is very quiet and easy to start. I'm in the process purchasing a second one this year model 201183 to have the 30 amp hookup to the trailer when running parallel with champion parallel kit. Also have used a few time at home using gas fuel. No complaints easy to start, runs quiet and reliable. Kudos to champion for making a great product and at a good price
