We bought the 12x10 pergola last summer. My husband put it together in about 4 hours. We needed additional help from family to get the pergola in the footings, but was overall and easy process. It held up wonderfully over its first Minnesota winter and fits our space perfectly!

I am a 50 year old woman and I was able to put this up myself. I had my 20 year old daughter help me with lifting the assembled pieces to the top of the pergola while I attached them. All the parts were included and I had no problems with hardware or alignment. It was very easy to assemble because I planned ahead, had the right tools and patience. I assembled it in 8 hours on day 1, I anchored it to the concrete on day 2.

I ordered the 10x12 pergola in early June 2020. It arrived in a couple weeks very neatly packed in 2 large, heavy boxes. We unpacked all parts and pieces and laid them out to verify all parts were there (they were) and to confirm everything was in good shape (it was). We took the suggestion of others and sealed all of the wood prior to installation. We completed the installation over 3 evenings, working a couple hours each night. It is definitely suggested to have 3 sets of hands to assist with the first few steps of the getting the joists installed to the posts. The directions were fine, and the installation is pretty simple and straightforward however the worst part of the entire project is the hardware. Most of the predrilled holes lined up (seems like this was an issue for many) but we had many cases where the bolt would not thread into the hub piece. Very frustrating although we got it to work out but had to throw an extra deck screw into a couple locations. The little joist end pieces, which are only decorative, were the worst part of the entire install as the hardware issues we had made for putting these up very difficult. When completed the pergola really looks good and we are certainly happy with the purchase. As others have stated the wood is very soft and light. We love the stain color and as you’ll see the wood is very aromatic. Be cautious when installing the purlins as we used an impact driver and if not careful it will drive the screw deep into the wood. For the price paid this is a really nice and functional pergola. If they sort out the hardware this will be a really great setup.

I purchased 4 of these 10x12's and combined them into one gisnt pergola. it's awesome. Yes you need a minimum of two additional people to assist you. As mentioned in the other reviews some of the holes do not line up. I discovered this early in the build and purchased the appropriate long drill bit. From that point on all of the holes were drilled prior to assembly or drilled when assembled as with the ends. I did have to purchase additional P1 & P2 long & short purlins and add a 20' center redwood purlin of my own to join them. I did not secure the posts to the concrete. the weight alone keeps it in place and will allow me to move it if necessary. The result is spectacular. I even had enough pieces left over to make a 5th pergola. I just needed to purchase 2 additional joists and some P1's & P2's The quality of the wood is great. You just can't get this kind of Cedar anywhere else. Make sure you treat it with water seal preferably before or during or after assembly. Brush or spray works great. I used a 2 gallon garden sprayer. I am in a very dry desert climate and do not expect it rot due to moisture, but just to be safe I did anyway. Yes it may be a chore to build but it's worth it. .

Bought this on 6-9-2023 arrived 6-13-2023, Assembly was easy took about 6 hrs. for 2 people. Well-built and great quality in making the parts. All cuts were accurate and holes clean and matched. no sharp edges. Really dressed up the curb appeal of our deck,lots of complements and several people asked where we bought it. Very Happy with this purchase.

I purchased and installed Beaumont Cedar Pergola on my backyard deck. The pergola has added a whole new dimension to the deck and its usefulness. The cedar wood was high quality and smells great. The instructions were straight forward and pergola pieces marked which really helped during installation. Thanks for putting together a great product and a price that's very affordable. Purchased this in June 2022 and my wife and I assembled the entire thing. It's not difficult just time consuming. It took us about 10 hours but again not difficult to do. The instructions are well organized. We put together most of the pieces in the garage and carried them to the back yard for total assembly. We have at least 5 neighbors who have asked questions and compliments us on it. We installed some roll shades as well for the afternoon sun and it's perfect. I expect to do a protectant stain coat this teak to keep the color so the cedar doesn't start looking gray like cedar does when it's weathered. Keep in mind this is Chinese cedar which is a bit different than American red cedar, but for the price, and knowing what you're going to get, you can't go wrong.

The new pergola has made a huge difference in the appearance and usability of our back yard. The build took around 5 hours from boxes to built and was super easy to do. We're looking into adding the Saxony XL grilling gazebo down the road as well, in part because of how well-manufactured and easy the pergola project went.

I purchased the 14x10 pergola last fall and absolutely love it. I put it together myself over the course of a weekend (without an extra set of hands, I had to be creative and used step ladders to lean sections upright when fastening together). It’s trickier that way…but still manageable. I was amazed at how well the pieces were marked. Most pre-drilled holes were lined up well, except for a few where I simply had to help with a drill. I have it on our back deck, which has created an entirely new feel and an outdoor oasis - almost like a bonus room. Now I am just looking for some type of cloth shade covering to add on for additional sun protection. BYD - do you have any recommendations?
