I was pleasantly surprised how convenient and sturdy this trash can is. The 21 gallon version can hold a lot, my previous trash can would get filled twice a day. With this one, we can go close to two days before we have to empty it out. Setting up is pretty easy - 3 D batteries and flip the on switch. Operating is very easy, either waive or push the open button. The trash can will detect when there’s no movement and will automatically close the lid. For those that say it is too sensitive, I rather have it be too sensitive and open every time I need it too instead of it not detecting me at all. I highly recommend.

You have to send a photo of your receipt to activate your warranty and complete a paper warranty form. I don't have a receipt because I bought online. All this should be accomplished online. The product quality is ok. The garbage can is lite which I prefer. I hope it's high strength.

Why sell a trash can that is this cool (and advertise it) with no trash bags available for sale in a 21 gallon size? I just assumed that if a retailer would sell this that there would be trash bags for sale in this size. I bought the D batteries so that the trashcan could work then realized after searching online and going to commom stores to buy trashbags that they don't sell trash bags that are 21 gallon unless you buy them from specialty retailers which are fairly pricey and not ideal to rely on having to buy your trash bags online when you run out. Having to return this techy TC this week. (I figured Sams would at least have offered a 21 gal trash bag option online but nope)

Was excited to receive it, but I've changed the batteries twice to see if that was the issue, but it still doesn't work. I'm not getting any light to flash to say it's working and tried to do a reset for the sensor. Is it C batteries or D batteries? Some say in reviews it takes 4 C batteries, but the instructions say 3 D batteries. I guess I'll try 4 C batteries to see if that works.

I like the trash can itself... I struggle to find bags to fit it! Unless you want to use the brand that samples were given with purchase. My other dislike is removing the olastic ring everytine you go to change the bag... if tou could use the gripper bags the ring wouldnt be necessary, but since those dont fit......

I am wondering about replacement parts?? I Purchased mine in the box had been opened and then stapled back shed and I didn’t pay attention to it till later a friend told me that it was supposed to have a ring that fit under the lid that held the bag in place and mine did not come with that I am wondering where I can obtain the replacement part

Arrived to my home much sooner than expected and in pristine condition. I loaded it with the required batteries and placed it in its new home. I'm thrilled with it, so much so that I'm going to order another one. I was concerned about what size bag it was going to take. To my surprise....it uses heavy duty outdoor trash bags!! Wonderful Wonderful.

In our house, standard 13 gallon trashcan seems to fill up in sn instant. This can holds the load, and keeps the "take the trash out" chore, a lot less frequent. Yes the can is expensive, and some people would argue that the sensor opening and closing is frivolous. So far, the feature has been very useful. In the past 2 years , I have had to replace 2 cheaper cans that added up, cost more than this one, so by hopefully buying quality, we will get many years of service from this can.

I bought this can about three years ago maybe four . I got my moneys worth. It worked great all that time. I’ve bought another one but a little bigger that I love. Will keep buying as long as they last a few years. I hate to hear that some of you are having trouble with yours. I love mine.

This can is awesome. You just wave your hand and it opens. Hands free. I also love the option where you can leave the lid open if needed to by pressing the right button. I'm needing to buy a ring but only because someone was in a hurry and didn't pay attention and threw the ring away. I'm wondering where I can buy a ring for Nine Stars Sensor Trash Can, Stainless Steel (21.1 gal)? Is there a link?
