Customer reviews for SAMSUNG 70" Class TU700D-Series Crystal Ultra HD 4K Smart TV UN70TU700DFXZA forThe remote sucks
the remote for this tv is horrible!!! trying to navigate through your apps? oh accidentally pressed the back/home button because everything is grouped tightly together? oh the tv picture is awesome. the keyboard mechanics are up there with the remote. like let me just type my word out not oh you want to delete that selection? so not only do you have to press those small navigation buttons you have to do a few times just to move off the letter you selected.
good
i got this when i was looking for a screen to tide me over while my laptop's screen got shipped, i don't regret it. the internal speakers are good for my purposes and are quite rich even considering the thickness of this TV (even compared to an older LN46D550F1FXZA), but my main complaint comes with the smartthings app (seemingly only on iOS though). however all works fine with the IR remote, so that's just the app at fault. bluetooth audio streaming works, airplay works, the internal web browser even was functional enough to send a message over discord. overall, if you can get this TV on for a decent price, go for it. you won't regret it.
2020 TV?
i bought this tv as a replacement for my 60in vizio from 2016. the vizio still works great, but i wanted a 4k tv with a better refresh rate. with my vizio i could cast any streaming app from my phone to it...from netflix to crunchyroll, but with my newer samsung i can only cast netflix and youtube music. amazon prime, hulu, discovery+, while they're on smarthub, the tv will not show up on the cast menu. after 3 hours texting and talking to customer support from parts unknown, the conclusion they finally gave me...after 3 disconnects...was that well, those apps just don't support the model of tv. they don't what?! ok, cool, awesome...so the tv itself is pretty good, screen is clear and vivid, looks great. smarthub has ads...blah. wish i could take it back.

This product is overall amazing.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product is easy to use; I really like it. The only negative thing is that it will occasionally flash when bright light is in a show, however this can be mostly fixed by changing the picture settings.
I love this tv, it's got everything!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have never had a television this awesome. Beautiful picture, crystal clear and the sound is great too, cannot imagine how great it will be with a new surround bar, like being at a movie theater. It was easy to program and download apps on too, like using a smartphone..
Display issues: Lines & Flashing
First Samsung device I have ever had trouble with. It seems to be a power supply/display module that has gone bad. TV was purchased 3/22. In 10/22 a line appeared on the top 1/3 of screen. Now the screen is flashing consistently bright/dim. We are unable to watch it.
Hi drgerry, Thank you for purchasing the Samsung TU700D TV and for sharing your experience with your TV not displaying correctly. You may want to try the following troubleshooting steps: 1. If any external devices are connected, check all input cable connections 2. If the issue persists, define exactly what is wrong with the display. 3. Try changing channels using the remote control. Is the issue the same on all channels? 4. Press the Home button (looks like a house), select Source, and choose another input source. Is the issue the same on all sources? 5. If the same problem persists, run a diagnostic test. (Home > Settings > Support > Device Care > Self Diagnosis > Picture Test) 6. If the problem disappears during the test, check your TV signal (Home > Settings > Support > Device Care > Self Diagnosis > Signal Information) to check the signal strength. The signal strength must be more than 20 dB (more than 4 bars on the icon) for stable signal reception Should your issue persist, please get in touch with Samsung Customer Support. Please know your TV is backed by a 3-year limited manufacturer's warranty, including authorized repair for manufacturer defects if purchased brand-new directly from an authorized seller, and we are here to help you. Contact us at 1-800-SAMSUNG, 8 AM - 12 AM EST, seven days a week. LiveChat with an agent, as well as manuals, software, and warranty info, can be found at the ‘Support’ link on our Samsung website. ~ Samsung Advisor
Great TV
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love the TV but it could definitely use some more apps and I had an issue with the remote where I ended up having to buy another. I wish these TVs would have a force close button for apps as sometimes stuff like Netflix freeze up
My 75” TU700 Smart TV
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My entire family loves watching movies, playing games and streaming from this TV. My wife was very reluctant to hang a Tv this big in our loft, but it's her favorite spot in the house now. We currently own 4 Samsung smart TVs that range from the TU6900-TU700 series and they have all been great. On this particular TV, we love the remote and it's ease of use (grandparents find it really easy when keeping the kids). The mobile app is great too and like controlling the TV from my phone when I misplace the remote (great when holding the baby). On Saturdays, this Tv is my go to for college football. Motion and sound is great and the picture quality is great in any lighting.
Disappointed
very disappointed and really angry with samsung. the user interface is very unintuitive-- took ages to find the apps i wanted (sling and spectrum) and it keeps popping up these junk promoted sites like cheddar that can't be removed. i paid for the tv. i should be entitled to set it up with what i want to watch highlighted and not be forced into this promoted content. also very difficult to watch original netflix content which is too dark. (my previous samsung didn't have this issue). tried the suggestions on various sites where other users shared their frustrations and fiddled with the settings. but basically i'll just go back to watching tv on my laptop or even phone.
disappointedbuyer: Thank you for purchasing the TU7000 TV and for your review. I am sorry to hear that you are not happy with the brightness levels of your picture. If the colors on your TV are correct but just a little too dark or bright you can try Dynamic Picture Mode, or manually adjust the Brightness settings to your liking. Dynamic Picture Mode will make pictures brighter and clearer in bright viewing environments. Go to: Settings > Picture > Picture Mode > Dynamic Or manually adjust the Brightness and other settings to your liking. Press the HOME button on your remote, then navigate to: Settings > Picture > Expert Settings You may also want to disable Power Saving Mode which automatically adjusts the brightness to reduce the TV’s power consumption. Go to Settings> General> Eco Solution> Power Saving Mode. Ambient Light Detection will also automatically adjust the brightness level of the TV, according to the ambient light level, to reduce power consumption. If Ambient Light Detection has adjusted the screen brightness to a too bright or dark level, you can select Minimum Brightness to manually adjust the minimum screen brightness. Go to Settings> General> Eco Solution> Ambient Light Detection Please also be sure you are running the latest firmware. You can check to see what software version your TV is using and if there is an available update through the settings on your TV. Go to: Settings>Support>Software Update. (1420.0 released on 1/5/21) You may want to enable automatic updates for convenience. Select Settings > Support > Software Update, then select Auto Update. I hope this helps to improve your picture. Should you need further assistance, please contact Samsung Customer Support. 1-800-SAMSUNG (ask for TVs), available 8AM -12AM EST, 7 days a week Or visit us on the Samsung website and click on the ‘Support’ link in the upper right corner of the homepage for: 1) Contact Us Options (LiveChat, Remote Support, Facebook, Twitter) 2) Product Support 3) Manuals and Downloads 4) Warranty Info 5) Product Registration: Registering your product gives you access to easy warranty support, convenient opt-in to special promos and offers, faster troubleshooting and service, and quick notification of system updates 6) Samsung Community: A great resource for getting help from Samsung moderators and customers and more 7) …and more product, repair, order, and care options ~ Samsung Solutions
Love the Samsung brand
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I will only buy Samsung from here on. Seems to be the fastest processing smart controls for any brand TV that I have ever owned. And Samsung is the only brand that supports 5ghz in some tvs. Loyal customer for life
