Fridge works, water dispenser causes home damage

Fridge works well but water dispenser paddle kept getting stuck and soaking whomever was using it to fill up water. One morning I came downstairs and it was dispensing water all over our kitchen floors which created damage. We have not used the water dispenser again and shut off the water to it.
