Your machine features an Anti-tangle Motorbar™ cleaner head, with suction control. The three levels of suction are controlled by the slider on the front of the cleaner head. Slide the suction control to suit the floor type, either positioning the slider left, center or to the right. The operational weight of this vacuum is on par with our other full size upright machines. If you're finding the vacuum hard to push or maneuver, even after adjusting the slider, it could be a compatibility issue with your flooring. We always suggest checking with your carpet maker to see what guidelines they may have regarding suction power or use of a spinning brush bar. Your machine features an Anti-tangle Motorbar™ cleaner head, with suction control. You can slide the suction control slider located on the front of the head, to suit the floor type you are cleaning. Having said that, there are some floor coverings which are not compatible with Dyson machines, a spinning brush bar, or stronger suctioning vacuums. You may wish to check with your carpeting manufacturer if you're still having difficulty, as they may have guidelines against using a Dyson vacuum, or recommend a machine with lower suction power. Hello Jennie, this is Kelly with Dyson. We're sorry to hear that you have found the Ball Animal 3 to be so heavy to use. While this machine is not self-propelled, is does feature Dyson ball technology. This allows it to steer easily into difficult places with a simple turn of a wrist. The vacuum's key components have been engineered to fit inside the ball itself. This gives the machine a streamlined profile, allowing access to tight spaces and lowering its center of gravity to make it lighter in the hand.
