Awesome generator with a lot of power

This is a great generator with tons of power. The push button start is very nice, and the remote is a nice feature. We went without power for 4 days, and I was able to run two fridges, television, several lights, and several charging stations without any issue. No issues using the microwave and coffee maker as well.

Ease of installation

Bought this for hurricane season. My mother requires supplemental oxygen. Since we experience power outages, this generator will not only supply power for her oxygen but it will also keep an AC unit running. The remote starter was another great feature. Perfect for our needs.

Push button start !

I needed a new generator to run 3 sump pumps, a pool pump and well pump in case of an outage (especially in heavy rain conditions), never mind lights or appliances. I have lived in my house for over 25 years and although I have had “infrequent” outages, some have been lengthy (out for several days) and some have come with lots of rain —- 9” in six hours —- I live in Indiana). I had an older, noisy generator that could run 2 power cords (plus a couple more using surge strips) to run the sump pumps in the basement and the pool pump to help drain down the pool in case of another massive downpour. With this generator, I have almost 2x the power I had before, and I will eventually have it switched to the breaker box so I won’t have to string cords down the stairs; and designated circuits will get switched on when the generator is “plugged in”. There should be enough power to run the a/c or furnace if needed. I’m (72 yr F) and not strong enough anymore to pull stubborn start cords easily and the push start is a godsend (it has a remote starter as well). I also opted for just the gas powered, as I don’t use propane for anything else, and didn’t want to hook up to the natural gas line (no outdoor shed). I also like the usb port feature so I can charge my devices (with WiFi unavailable, my phone charge goes down fast), and the carbon monoxide alarm is a good safety feature, along with the gauge to monitor fuel level, run hours, etc. I don’t need to peek into the gas tank with a flash light anymore and guess at how much fuel is left in it. The generator can also automatically adjust the rpm to a lower level so it’s not running at full blast or one run speed when the output needed is small. The only complaints i have are when I was setting it up —- (1). the quick guide has very small close-up pictures instructing how to put on the 2 wheels and 2 foot brackets. The user manual has much larger and simpler pictures, but I didn’t know that until after assembly. (2). it might also be useful to know that the oil reservoir will take @ 2/3 of the quart of oil (included) to fill—- I probably checked the level 10 times because I was mindful not to overfill. (3) couldn’t find the key fob for some time that was clipped to part of the engine under the top of the machine —— maybe a note with the battery or parts bag (or set-up guide) saying where to find it would be helpful. Ironically, I had just had the generator delivered 1 1/2 days before a storm and power outage and hadn’t set it up yet, so I had to put it together in semi-darkness in the garage and the power came back on shortly, about the same time as I was filling the oil reservoir. Otherwise, easy-peasy set-up, and a lovely, quiet machine that stays put and doesn’t dance around. I am actually looking forward to my next power outage.

Awesome Power - Easy Start Up!

Bought this in prep. for hurricane season. Unit came 99% ready to go - putting on the wheels and feet were a breeze! So far, I have only done the initial start up, but was able to plug it into my 220V, and do a "dry run" of it. It was able to power up one of my central A/C units with no problem (the smaller of the two), and I also hooked up some of my essentials (fridges, t.v., a few lights/power outlets). The noise isnt as bad as I thought it would be. At this running wattage - it is what it is. This this looks like it will easily handle any hurricane that comes our way - and I am not expecting us to be out cold for a week, here in Texas again, like we were earlier this year!

Solid Generator

I reviewed many generators prior to finally purchasing a Westinghouse WGen9500 generator. The generator had many of the features I was looking for and it has delivered those and more. It is a very solid machine and has met my expectations so far. I haven't put it to a long term test, but I believe it will perform for my needs. When I have more hours on the generator, I will try to post a review on performance at a later date. It's rather heavy, but the fold down handle makes it easy to maneuver and the panel controls are laid out well.

Modern

Purchased a week ago and am so happy we are now ready for hurricane season. Generator is very modern with three ways of starting. Manual, push button, or remote start provides convenience and adaptability. This is a well built system and runs smoothly.

Great Product: easy set up

I had this delivered to my home and it was easy to set up and get going. Everything was explained in the quick guide. It even included oil and a fuel funnel! (But no fuel, obviously.) Within an hour we had it in place, running, and powering the house.

Best bang for the buck!

I shopped around looking for an all purpose generator that I could use in the field to power tools and my welder. I like the fact that it is advertised as its running wattage not its peak as so many other generators are. The remote, wheel kit with handle and engine oil are a real bonus, so many other generators charge extra for or don't have those options. Exhaust noise is acceptable and the weight of the unit is to be expected. I can't vouch for the engine but I have no reason to believe it isn't reliable with proper maintenance. If you're looking for a good all purpose generator with plenty if the most wanted features then look no further.

Great features at a great price.

To begin, the instruction manual was amply illustrated and easy to follow. I am quite pleased with the versatility provided by the 20 - 50 amp outlets. Additionally, the included battery trickle charger, two USB ports, and the remote start key fob combined with the quality construction of the unit make this portable generator well worth consideration.

Prepared for the next Texas Power Outage

I have just completed assembly and made a test run. The unit started immediately by electric start as the battery was already charged. I was pleased with the clear instructions and ease of assembly with necessary tools included. A very helpful oil filter funnel was also included. Everything worked right out of the box, even the key fob remote starter. Only downside is insufficient packing material. The unit is very heavy and mine was manhandled along its journey. The cover holding the pull start rope was bent inward and had to be pushed out to ensure smooth operation (if the electric start should not work some day). Ready for the next storm or job away from power sources.
