When I received the deck box the cardboard box was a mess...all broken and taped up. The deck box looked great, so I started to put it together. The pieces do not 'slide' together. I asked a neighbor for help and he brought a rubber mallet. We got the back piece on using the mallet. The front piece kept getting stuck. When it finally moved, it smashed one of the plastic connectors because it wasn't seating properly. There's no way it will be waterproof now, so I had to return it. On the bright side, Walmart made it easy to return by having FedEx pick up for me.

This is exactly our third lifetime deck box so obviously we like its functionality very much. Holds and protects the outdoor furniture cushions we have. The only negative is the the assembly... its a beast to put together! Takes patience snd mental fortitude!

I was so exited when I saw the quality. It was so heavy and appeared to be a great product. First out with the instructions and away we go. Problem 1 there were hard pieces of dark plastic blocking the holes where you slide the sides down in 3 different holes np. My husband took those off because I couldn’t get them off as they were well attached. Easy next step insert sides, side 1 piece of cake problem 2 side 2 would not go into insert. My question should the insert be bigger or panel insert smaller so we took apart panel 1 and tried it as we all ready knew it was the right size. Doesn’t fit! Now I have a 130 gallon storage box sitting in my living room waiting for a new panel ffs can no body do any thing right anymore. Then we proceed to put the screws in place so I can finish it by myself when the panel comes. No indent for screws so they tend to go crooked. There are only 2 indents and those went in fine the rest were stressful. I have bought many unassembled items including bbqs and have never came a crossed such poor workmanship for such an expensive item. Pay more get more is not at all the case with this. The only reason I’m giving it 2 stars if for quality which I would say is a 5 star. Very disappointed!

Lifetime deck boxes are well built and easy to assemble. I bought one over a year ago and liked it so much I bought another one two weeks ago. They hold up well in the weather and do not leak. I am now considering buying another one as soon as I make room for it on my deck. They look good and serve the purpose very well. I recommend them.

I bought this 4 years ago and it continues to look and work nicely. We store pool chemicals in it and the chlorine fumes pretty much destroyed the metal hinges. Four years later, no problem - they sent a free pair f hinges out to replace the old ones. Looks as good as new inside and out.

I luckily had all the tools needed to make this install less of a pain in the behind. I had a torque wrench with numerous sizes, an impact drill and a rubber mallet. Directions are not the best, and even with all the tools, install was roughly 45 minutes to an hour by myself for something that should have taken 15 minutes like the Rubbermaid version of this. However, I got this on sale for $90, so it is much cheaper than the Rubbermaid counterpart. Tough parts were shaving off parts of plastic to attach the base to the walls support tabs, forcing screws in straight, and figuring out orientation with not the easiest instructions.

I purchased one of these a few years ago and it is still in good condition. I had to look hard to find an exact match but did, and the price from Walmart was better than Mayfair, Amazon, or elsewhere, and with shipping included. That is not an endorsement of Walmart over the others. You should shop where you get the best price and service. Things change. The hinges work well, for now. This new box came in a flat carton and required assembly. There are not many parts, though, and assembly should/could have taken only 30-60 minutes. However, the plastic panels are injected/molded and overflow from the injection process left just enough excess at seams and in some of the pre-punched assembly holes that it took me nearly 3 hours. You should start with a very sharp knife like a box cutter and CAREFULLY shave off the excess plastic, keeping the blade as flat as possible to the surface when "shaving" the excess from the seams, and not too aggressively when cleaning holes. It is a soft plastic. It may also be helpful to assemble the box when it is slightly warm from the sun (but not hot). A second issue I had was alignment of the stamped (plastic) holes and the (metal) hinges. They were not exactly aligned and I had to do some minute (tiny) widening of a couple of the plastic holes. Be very, very careful there because the margin of plastic is very slim, and the tolerance is so close, so do not over-tighten the nut or you might break the plastic at those points. I do not know how long that plastic will hold during use, but I think not long. They just are not perfectly aligned from the factory so that was my only solution. My first box is still in service and I hope the second, at this higher price, will last as long. TBD.

A dock box I had was no longer warranted but had an issue with the hinges. They had rusted through and causing rust to run down the dock box. They backed up their product and immediately sent out new hinges for the dock box. They back up their name "Lifetime" Thank you!

This box is HUGE! It’s sturdy and well made, went together easily, and holds SO much! It has truly impressed me, for sure. It’s exactly what we needed to store all our grilling and griddle accessories and all the backyard accessories. Neat, clean, and kept clean and dry. Didn’t know HOW badly we needed this! Very well worth the cost, for sure.

Bought this box because it's supposed to be waterproof. Box was easy to put together, but there is a factory defect where the hole for a lock to go doesn't line up properly between the lid and front panel. This causes a gap allowing water to go in. I called lifetime customer service, they had me send them pictures and they told me that was normal to put a shim on the back side so water doesn't go in the box. That doesn't work for blowing rain and I shouldn't have to put a shim because of a defect. Poor customer service. Will be returning because what good is this thing if everything inside is going to get wet. I bought this box because a family member has one and they don't have a gap causing water to get in. If customer service would have been more helpful and sent a fix I would have given better review and kept box. What's the point in the 10 year warranty if they won't correct a defect for an item that was just purchased. Tried to post picture with review, but it won't allow it.
