Parasites

I go out of my way to look for wild caught salmon to avoid parasites. Highly disappointed and disgusted in this brand. Has me thinking what else from sams or their supplier has parasites.

Tasted great! But I got sick two separate times

Taste was very good! The problem I had with these was that I got sick with a terrible stomach virus both times I had this. Two separate occasions and it was like I was vomiting and diarrhea all day long. I’m not saying it was for sure from the salmon, but it’s one of those things where it possibly was and now I’m hesitant to buy it again. I definitely use an instant read thermometer for meats and fish. So I know it was cooked correctly. I will probably buy again because we really like salmon. But if I get sick again a few hours after, I’ll probably be making some calls.

Disappointed Wild Caught

I was highly disappointed with this 6 piece, wild caught salmon. It was extremely orange in color. Very dried once baked or broiled. I did a double take on the expiration date. Gave the remaining 4 pieces to my neighbor. This was not my first time purchase of this product, so I don't know what happened.

Better than fresh!

I recommend this product for its quality and taste. It is from the USA (country of origin is important as not all cultures adhere to USDA standards), flash frozen on the fishing boats, which makes the fish as tasty as possible. It doesn't require as long a cooking time as farmed salmon because it is lower in fat.

Superior taste and texture

I eat salmon twice a week for the health benefits and I have always thought it was okay but this salmon is really delicious. I take it out frozen, mist my electric skillet with olive oil spray, add a dash of fresh ground pepper and a dash of kosher salt to the fillet set the electric skillet to high and pop the lid on. Seven to ten minutes and it is ready- moist, flaky and delicious. A little microwaved frozen brown rice and some lightly sautéd fresh asparagus same skillet and I have one of my favorite meals in maybe 20 minutes with one pan to clean. When you start with good ingredients less is more.

Good choice

I love the Alaskan salmon Sams brand.... always good quality ... I do however if given a choice, prefer the ones that are directly sourced by Native Alaskans but that brand ( cannot recall brand name at this moment) hasn't been available for awhile. However Alaskan Sockeye Salmon Member's Mark is the 2nd runner up! Btw... I wish Sams Club would sell more fish sourced from the USA....( I would buy tremendously more fish from Sams Club if you did) ....I know our sustainability policies...And also this helps keep our fishing industry alive and well! Thank you

Good quality, convenient.

I always have this salmon in my freezer. It’s the easiest way for me to ensure I eat healthy fish a couple of times per week. Multiple sources say that Alaskan salmon is the healthiest salmon and has less mercury. I appreciate Sam’s Club consistently carrying this product.

I always lose one filet

I have purchased this Salmon at least five or six times. At least four of those purchases included one filet that was not properly sealed, so I always plan to lose at least one piece of fish for each bag I buy. This Salmon is a skin-on Salmon. My husband eats the skin, but I do not. However, I have to clean off scales each time I cook with this Salmon. The overall flavor is very good. My only real complaint is that I don't get to cook every piece in the bag.
