The package was delivered on the day promised. It was put in our driveway so we opened the boxes an carried the parts to the back yard, which was supper easy since the parts are light and sturdy. My 16 year old grandson did most of the work because I am limited on how much I can lift over my head. We did the assembly is less than a day and it looks great and really sets off our concrete patio. to

I wanted to wait a few weeks before reviewing. Overall it it a very nice. There are a few areas where you notice the difference between this and a much higher priced item. The long strips on the top are very thin (maybe 1” X 1”), and they are actually 2 smaller pieces joined together. It feels short - needs a footer to lift it by 1’ to get the proportions right. Glad I opted for professional installation- 2 guys with all the right tools completed the job in a few hours.

I bought two of the 10 x 12 pergolas with installation after seeing a friends. The company called within 4 or 5 days of purchase to schedule the installation. I didn't understand evidently that the measurement was from outside edge of the overhead rafters not the legs. I also didn't know that anchoring was not included in the initial installation. It turned out fine but for a while I was nervous that they would not fit. It is also probably better to anchor after the unit is set up since it's hard to gauge where the legs will be. The installation company can schedule for anchoring too at an additional charge.

no special tricks here other than follow the directions! you will likely need to make some "on the fly" adjustments/re-calibrations, as the pieces do not always line up otherwise it took me about 6 hours total over 2 days. the need for a 2nd person really only comes into play when you go to make it stand upright...the rest of the assembly is a one person deal...maybe the helper can hand you supplies to help with efficiency but other than that...no real problems

I bought the pergola about a month ago and planned to put it together right away. Then we had snow! The pergola was safe in its boxes in garage. When we finally got to it; we counted all the pieces and inspected for damage/warping etc. We read reviews and hints from others extensively prior to buying. There was some issues, we called the number provided and were treated wonderfully! Replacement pieces came, we sealed each piece and were ready to build. Then ran into another problem with the hardware. Again called the service line and replacements were here within days. The pergola is now mostly build as we are having some landscaping done but looks fabulous as it awaits to be moved to it's final place. Please note the instructions could be better. A video would be awesome. No issues so far with alignment but we made sure it was square. (Read reviews). If you have issues the company is very helpful! If you are hiring someone to build it, you may want to find one the company recommends.

Overall I feel this was a great value. A well designed pergola at a reasonable price. Assembly was straight forward with clear directions. Did it by my self over a couple of Saturdays could have done it in a 1/3 of the time if I had a helper. Very satisfied with finished product.

I purchased this Pergola as a Mother's Day gift. I had a unique size area where every Pergola was either too big or much too small. After reviewing the online plans, I determined with my basic construction knowledge and tools that I could modify the 10' X 12' Pergola slightly smaller to fit my area. Even without modifications, this Pergola was good quality and easy to install. I would definitely recommend this to other buyers.

We really like it and my husband was able to put it together by himself. One thing we were disappointed in was that the 6x6 corner posts were not solid. Not sure if we missed that in the description. But, it looks beautiful and we’ve already had numerous compliments on how great it looks.

We are very happy with this purchase except a couple small items. Instructions were very good. One thing I noticed is that the instructions from the BILT app are a little backwards compared to the printed instructions. One would have a board right side up and the other would have it right side down. Fine, as long as you stick to one set of directions. Everything lined up very nicely except for a couple corbels and most of the 2x2's on top. I would say that only 25% of the 2x2 holes lined up, but not sure if there is a way to improve that. Most of the lumber was surprisingly straight except for the 2x2s, especially the posts!

We love the look and style of this pergola and would definitely recommend this product. Do bear in mind however, that it DOES need two people to set up and if you are not handy with tools, its going to take you 4-6 hours or more to set up. As has been mentioned, the hardware can be a little tough as all the bolts/screws have been painted, but my husband was able to make them all work. Find screws and bolts that work together (some pairs worked together better than others) BEFORE you get on the ladder! We also had a few slightly warped boards which made some of the fitting a little tough but we were able to make it work and it didn't affect the look of the finished product. We thought we were going to have to make some recuts but boards that didn't fit at first fit as it went together. Also someone mentioned its not cedar but pine. My husband said the same thing: smells like pine, light weight wood and we had a little sap on the boards. Overall, we LOVE it and it really is a beautiful addition to our yard.
