Not a snow tire

These tires came OEM on my Ford F-250. Have over 9,000 miles on them. They are wearing very well. No perceptible road noise, and handle/ride well. Gravel road performance is as good as could be hoped. However, I live in Montana and it snows. Performance in the snow is not where I'd like it. Michelin says "acceptable traction in regions with light winter weather." I'd say that is exactly true. But, in regions with heavy winter weather the traction is not the best. My neighbor made the same observation. He has a different set for winter and runs these in the late Spring through early Fall.

Below Average Wear Life

I purchased these for my 2009 1500 Silverado and really likes the look of them but am not that impressed with the wear life. I put these on last year and have about 30K miles on them and they are already needing replacement. I do some off roading in the fall for hunting and but 90% of my driving is on the highway going to and from work. They seem to handle alright but they seem to wear out way to fast. With winter coming soon I know I will be needing to replace them before snow fall.

Michelin is the brand to buy

I bought these for my Chevrolet Tahoe approximately 3 years ago. They have been excellent. In the snow, the dirt, and excessive heat (110+). They are wearing so well, I expect to get more than the warranty states. I have experienced some slight cracking in the sidewall due to the vehicle being outside during all conditions but they have been checked and there is no chance of failure.

Poor on ice

I had these on my 4Runner when I resided in Utah. Long story short, they handled very poorly on ice; the LTX M/S's I owned previously were far superior. After driving on these for two winters, I went back to the LTX M/S's. Not as rugged looking (if that's your thing), but a far superior all-season tire.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention, JML56. We would recommend getting a tire inspection at an authorized dealer. Please have the dealer contact us at 866-866-6605 to report their findings.

Ver good, but...

Tires have about 8k miles on them at time of review.I switched to this tire from the MS2 thinking I will be off road a bit more this fall. Road noise and vibration are slightly higher than the MS2, but still impressive for an AT tire. Had them in light snow in April and they seemed to grip a bit better than the MS2, but the MS2 seems a bit better in rain. The AT2 has a bit of sloppiness in cornering on dry pavement. If you spend 95% or more of your time on road I think the MS2 would get the nod.

I "Have" Bought This Tire Again & Again

I have purchased a set of these tires for my last three trucks. Living in far northern Minnesota we have a great deal of difficult driving conditions. This is the best riding, handling & wearing tire I have every owned. I'll get a set for my next truck as well. It's hard to improve on perfection!

how long can a good thing last

we have a everyday driver its a 97 gmc sierra extended cab pickup. our first set of Michelins lasted 6 years and had some 60000 miles plus on them. we are very happy with the performance of the Michelin tire and purchased a second set for our pickup. we never had a flat or any other problems. we choose Michelin due to the high quality of the tire and trouble free miles. our experience with other tires is that they wear out below the advertised mileage. we also recommend Michelin to our children when they need new tires, we feel they are that safe to do so.

Best Tires I've ever bought

I've used this tire mostly for highway but have gone off-road with it and it is great for both. I have a Ford F150 fx4 and these tires look amazing on it. I like that the tire is not to loud and that you still get that off-road look. Overall great product would recommend and have recommended to some friends.

Impressed

These tires came stock on my 2011 F-150 XLT 4x4 with off road package. I'm already a fan of Michelin LTX as I had two sets on my 2003 4x4 Suburban, easily reaching 60k miles with rotation at approx. every 10k miles. At over 60k my tires still passed safety inspection here in Utah. As for the ATs, just got back from driving in the Maze district of Canyonlands, some of the worst regularly traveled roads in Utah. The tires were surefooted and gripped well from 4 high to 4 low with rear locker engaged on loose gravel, slickrock, sand, fording a river and everything in between, pitches reaching 16 degrees both uphill and downhill. Pretty amazed for a long stock 4 door 4x4 pickup.
