Hoping for a quick, good-tasting meal supplement, I tried Ensure Original vanilla after successfully healing an NSAID-induced gastritis with dietary changes and Mylanta as needed. Drank half of one bottle to see how it sat. Within an hour, I developed stomach pains lasting several hours, followed by loose stools. Based on so many good reviews, I figured it was something else I had eaten. Two days later I drank the remaining half bottle only to experience even worse stomach pains, again with loose stools. Going back to Carnation Instant Breakfast Essentials Light -- lower in fat, lower in sugar content, not as many chemicals ... plus, it's a good-tasting, quick, on-the-go meal supplement/snack that's never made me sick. As someone who's always followed a lot-fat, low-carb, healthy diet, Ensure is not the product for me.

It provides the nourishment I initially need to get going and take the edge off my early morning hunger. I also like to have a bottle in the evening with a banana as a snack.

Ensure is an easy way to add calories and needed vitamins. My husband enjoys the taste, and Ensure is so easy for my husband to drink when he doesn't feel like eating! And the different flavors give him a nice variety.

I drink a bottle 3 times a day once after a light breakfast, at lunch especially if I have a lot of errand to run and don't have time to eat and a third one with my dinner. I recently had oral surgery and the ensure was a blessing to have on hand. Sometimes when I need a little extra I drink the ensure plus. I am very active so I need everything it gives my body.my overall feeling is more energy .I have been drinking it now for 2 years.
