A little fatty but good to use for any cooking purpose. I've used it to make meatballs, burger patties, stir fried with vegetables or tofu, you name it. The packaging is a little annoying to open and not great for resealing (best way is to just put it in a zip lock bag or tupperware).

Love Jimmy Dean pork sausage- main ingredient in the following recipe. You will be asked for the recipe-Never any left over! Sausage dip recipe: 1 roll Jimmy Dean pork sausage(the regular) 1 Philadelphia cream cheese- bar -8 oz. 1 can Rotele chopped tomatoes (mild or regular). I use only 1/3 can. Brown sausage in fry pan until no longer pink. Drain grease. (Very little grease to drain). Add cream cheese and tomatoes. Cook/stir until cheese melts. Serve warm with scoops. So easy to make. So delicious. Enjoy!

This is our family’s favorite brand of sausage to use in our breakfasts and other meals and recipes. It is delicious sausage and easy to cook or freeze, depending which you want to do. It is pretty reasonably priced, but I think it does gradually get more expensive as time goes.

I used to love Jimmy Dean's sausage -- I mean I wouldn't buy any other brand. But I am so disappointed to see that MSG - Mono Sodium Glutmate is an ingredient in this sausage. I have had to stop buying other brands of Sausage because of this and now it looks like my absolute favoirte and the best tasting Sausage has joined the "flavor for cheap" fad. Not many people understand what people who are Allergic to MSG suffer through -- but it's painful and really harmful to the body when we eat some. Please reconsider taking this harmful ingredient out of your Sausage as an ingredient so people like me can purchase your sausage again. Buy this sausage every week. Made the usual sausage/gravy for biscuits. Took a bite, found a very small fragment. Put it on a napkin. Then two bites later, another one. Wanted to contact you privately but no private link- saved package and the two fragments. Quality control error? What else got ground up?

Regular and hot have been over salty on occasion. The sage seems ok. I have loved Jimmy Dean sausage for many years. as you will understand.If my cousin can still do commercials, he can help in quality control. If he's to busy let me know and I will do QC. Irvin Lloyd Dean

I normally buy Neese's sausage- a local brand. This time I went shopping late in the weekend and they were sold out. I remembered hearing all the Jimmie Dean sausage commercials years ago, so I grabbed a tube and gave it a go. So I got home and the next morning I cut my usual "slab" and tossed it in the pan as always, on medium, and went about prepping my muffin and coffee. A scorched smell hit me, so curious to see what was going on, I pulled the lid off my sausage and flipped it over. It was burnt looking! I was baffled.. I grabbed the tube and looked at the ingredients, and there was my answer.. corn syrup and sugar! What? Why was this in my sausage? I read further.. and I saw there is also flour in it! What? Like a ready made pancake? A sausage pancake with syrup all ready added? I don't know what the intent is, but it was very disappointing... and back when sausage was sausage..

This used to be the best sausage sold in Southern California. I don't know what happened, but the recipe has changed. The sausage is crumbly, and it's dry. Something obviously has been removed from the recipe. I guess I'll now get my sausage shipped from down south where they know good sausage

I just wish they would carry the Maple and the Hot styles
