It helped me so much with my in-laws Trust taxes. I did it myself the hard way trying to sort out the documents and calculations needed the first year, but Turbo Tax made it so much simpler and less confusing. Also was able to do both Federal and state.

The agent I spoke with was wonderful. However, I needed to call because the software kept insisting that I complete a balance sheet even though none was needed. Somehow, when the agent was on the line, it stopped insisting on the balance sheet, even though I didn't change anything. Then, it kept wanting me to fill out a Georgia State form for people who are making films in Georgia. While the agent was on the line with me, during the final review, the system insisted that I fill out more parts of the film tax information. We finally just deleted the form in the Forms list and I finally got my returns eFiled. I suggest that you look for bugs in your software, and don't include the Georgia state film making form as part of the standard return. Ask if the user needs it, and if not, leave us alone!

Overall a good product, easy to use and fairly straight forward. It is lacking in some regards to clarifying details, such as different terminology used by the different states or between states and the federal government. LLC's vs Corporation and what forms are required. This may also just be a gray area that is caused by states being unclear in their definitions or treatment of differing entities.

If I hadn't been a professional tax preparer in the past, this program would not be easy for a lay-person to use. But since I have the skills, it's better than paying a fortune to a CPA. I might suggest for other people to use the TT tax prep service though, if it's affordable to you.

First, there needs to be a Mac version of this software, just like there is for all other Turbtax products. Second, this software is needlessly complicated and uninformative for someone who has a vacation home held in a trust, with nothing but rental income and associated expenses. There should be an "express" simplified version for common trusts. Finally, many times on review the software will say that an entry is needed at a certain place, but it is not clear what information is being requested, and the software provides literally zero help in puzzling that out.

Last tax year, 2023, the Turbo Tax program would not let me file my S corporation taxes online, as confirmed with my conversations with Turbo Tax representatives. This 2024 tax year, I was able to file both my Georgia State and Federal taxes online. I was not charged to file my Georgia State tax return electronically like years past.

I had to use TurboTax Business to obtain a Form 1041. I found this program not as user friendly as Form 1040. I don't file a state tax return, but TurboTax informed me I had to. so from that page, I stopped doing what Turbo Tax required for state. The first time I processed the return I was rejected by the IRS. I spent most of today talking to two TurboTax employees and one IRS employee. The Name, Code and EIN check balance somehow did not match so the form was rejected. I have sent a second e-filing to see if all was corrected.

I prepared the final tax return for our Family Trust Form 1041. To electronically file, you have to attach Form 8453-FE. Preparing the return was straight forward, I have been using Turbo Tax for 20+ years. Finished up by scanning the needed form and attaching it to my return. I tried many, many times to transmit - over and over an error came up and told me there was an internet problem. On the second day, I decided to change my PDF default reader to Adobe (I have been using a different program for a year or two). Went through the finish up process again and it transferred just fine. I am sure specifying Adobe was the kicker. To bad I had to learn the hard way (hours wasted). Wish this was clearly stated in the documentation. All good now. Return has been transmitted successfully.

I have been a loyal customer of the TurboTax Business Desktop version for years, and I really like it. However, I've encountered some issues with the 2024 version when submitting my taxes. Fortunately, TurboTax support was very helpful and quickly resolved the bug

I love TurboTax for my personal taxes, but the business edition is horrible. It lacks all the feature that make the home version convenient--inline explanations, detailed prompts to help you get the right information, contextual help within the application, AUTO SAVE (I had to start my deductions over again because it popped up a save window so fast that my mouse inadvertently clicked no before I could read the prompt)! The help function in the business edition is worthless, it just takes you to the homepage where then you have to spend time figuring out what options to choose that will get you to the answer you need. My business is small and my taxes are pretty simple, but now that the business is growing, I am going to have to hire a CPA--which is ironic because the whole point of this software is supposed to be to make my life easier as things get more complex, not add to the complexity.
