DO NOT BUY for a group cooking and its dangerous
AND ITS DANGEROUS!. This grill was donated to our church youth group for a camping trip and I was the cook. The church has a 3' Blackstone grill and work great but this thing is a poor, VERY POOR, copy. A quick list of issues with this grill: 1) The shelves are set at the same height as the bottom of the cooking surface. This means the shelves are all but useless because anything you put on them is exposed to the heat from the burners leaking out of the gap. This is DANGEROUS. In the picture you can see what happened when I put a roll of towels on the shelf while the grill was warming and I turned my back to get food out of the cooler. It can also be dangerous because any tool or container on the shelf can get hot enough to burn you if you grab it. 2) The gas hose is so short not only do you have to have the tank on the holder but you have to mount it facing the correct way. 3) The cooking area is NOT 720 sq in. The area which gets hot enough to cook on is about 10 inches by 30 inches that works out to 300 sq in. This means you can only cook 10 pancakes or hamburgers at a time. Might be OK for a family cook out but that’s half of what I routinely cook on the 3 foot Blackstone. 4) Not only is the cooking are small its uneven. There are four hot spots right above the burners, but at least you can see them from the discolored spots the grill. 5) The burner controls are bad. They have a high to low range marked but there’s very little difference between high and low. If you need a low flame you have to SLOWLY turn the knob toward the off setting. 6) The grease drain in a hole in the front center of the grill. This might be kind of OK if the grill was on a perfectly level surface. But the slightest tilt means you have are constantly trying to move any drippings from where they have puddled around the food and into the little hole. Yet it seems it’s a magnet for scrambled eggs when you pour them on the grill. 7) The lip around the front of the gill is short. This becomes an issue very quickly when the grill is listing toward one of the front corners. You REALLY have to keep bailing grease into the little hole or it will overtop the lip. Then it runs down the front of the grill and all over the floor. 8) The grease trap is a drawer under the little drain hole and they even give you some disposable pans. Might sound good in theory but it is really bad in theory. Again if you are cooking a lot of food it doesn’t take long for the pan to get full. Then you have a pan full of hot grill drippings you have to try to QUICKLY get out (w/o spilling it), dumped and returned before too much gunk drips into the bowels of the grill where it is impossible to remove. 9) The shelves are permanently attached. This might not be a big deal for you. But if you need to transport the grill or want to store it between uses having 18 inches or so of shelf and handle sticking out each side is a pain in the rump.
Assembly requires modification
I got this for my husband for Christmas. Out of the box, everything looked fine but after taking everything out, the entire gas burner piece was covered in mold. As we put it together after cleaning everything, the holes to almost every piece did not align with what needed to be screwed in. The legs were turned inwards, the shelf to the right of the burners needed to be grinded down to even get the bracket to connect it to the griddle, there is an inch long piece of welding material left on the flattop itself aside of the holes and screws issue. Luckily my husband was able to make modifications in order for it to work once we finally got it together but it took two hours.

Awful Rusting Problem!!
I was so excited for this grill, but have been left so disappointed. It was pretty easy to put together, minus one or two holes that didn't line up, but that didn't seem to have affected the structure of the grill. Once I set up the grill, I places the cover provided on top until I was ready to use it about a week later. The bit water that sat on top of the grill cover from the rain we had the day prior to cooking on it for the first time seems to have seeped through the cover and onto the grill top causing rust. I was so disappointed that there was already damage before I even got to use it. I was able to clean it off pretty well, and figured I needed to treat this top like a cast iron skillet, so I oiled it well after scraping off the food bits from it's first use. Before putting the grill cover back on, I triple checked for any water on the griddle and make sure it was oiled every inch. I took the cover off about 2 days later to use it again and once again there was a TON of rust, this time all over the entire cook top. It hadn't even rained on the grill cover. The only moisture on top of that grill cover within those two days was dew. After this, I did what I could to get as much rust off as possible. I was able to get a lot of it off, and use it again. But the same thing happened about a week later when trying to use it. Since the griddle is clearly cheap, and the cover doesn't actually protect the griddle, the only solution to this would be a metal lid. I had such high hopes for this grill, but have been left extremely disappointed. If you can, just go spend the extra couple hundred dollars on the big name brand we all know. I wish I would have. I ordered this online, and it's all put together so I'm not even totally sure how I can go about returning this item. Aside from this massive disappointment, it does cook evenly and the structure of the grill so far is just fine. Just worried about cooking food for my family on a bunch of rust, so I will not be using this anymore.
Rusted after two months and five uses.
This griddle lasted less than two months and five uses. When I went to go use it the final time, I noticed the whole griddle was rusting. This griddle was being covered by the cover that came with the griddle, so it was not due to lack of care. When I called customer service, they told me that a refund was coming and they would pick up the griddle themselves. This was great, as frustrated as I was with the terrible griddle, but at least I was getting a refund. That was over a month ago, and while the griddle was picked up the day after the refund started, the money Sam's Club owes me has yet to hit my bank account. I have been speaking with Sam's Club customer service, and they have been extremely unhelpful. Jika, the most recent customer service rep, had to be the least helpful as all she did was once again forward it to the "Specialist" team, shrug her shoulders, and disconnect. Avoid this griddle at all cost and go with a reputable brand who sells better griddles. In all honesty, this whole experience has soured me on Sam's Club as a whole and I will most likely avoid using them for anything in the future.

Great but!!
Awesome grill!
Good Griddle, Terrible Cover
This griddle is good but the entire surface doesn't heat and cook evenly. The edge closest to the controls is not as hot as the rest of the griddle. The cooktop is great and large. It seasons easily and is easy to clean. The ignition doesn't always light the first time. Sometimes it takes me a couple tries. My biggest complaint is the cover. It is not waterproof. Every time it rains it soaks through the cover, my griddle gets wet and it rusts. This has happened twice now. I'm worried about it long term and will have to buy a new cover for it that is actually waterproof.
