This bed is way too firm for me. I am 5'5 and 200 pounds, medium frame. I am a side sleeper. I experience a lot of neck, back, and shoulder pain. The recommendation for people like me is a medium firm bed, unfortunately Tempur-pedic no longer offers a medium firm in their new line, so I tried the firm and I experienced back, neck and shoulder pain for thirty days. My husband loves the firm, he is much larger than me though. I then traded the firm for a medium, which is better, but feels like it may be a little too soft, and it sinks down quite a bit, which makes it hard to move and hot. I do not know why Tempu-pedic decided to not offer the most popular mattress feel, which is medium firm, it is also the most recommended by pain doctors and regular doctors. If the medium was just a little firmer it would be perfect. The firm just caused me too much pain.

We've had this bed a month. When we tried it in the showroom display the "firm" mattress was very soft. The "medium" mattress was way too soft (sink to the bottom kinda soft). So we went with the firm with the idea it would relax/soften over time considering the showroom display had been there for quite a while. After taking delivery of our new split CA king bed, I found the firm was just that FIRM. Too firm for me but just right for my husband. Until this bed softens up a bit, I need to put a softer memory foam topper on it. Otherwise the quality is good and my husband likes all the bells and whistles of the base. It's perfect for him to adjust so he can be comfortable with his bad back.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I genuinely thought that waking up stiff and achy was age-related (I'm only in my 30's), and that tossing and turning all night was a personal problem. I've bought 4 mattresses in my adult life and nothing has ever made a dent in my terrible sleep, and for the first time in my life, after using this mattress- I wake up refreshed!! It sleeps cool, so I don't find myself sprawling all around, trying to find the cold spots anymore, and my joints don't ache at all! I'm replacing all of my mattresses in my other rooms with this immediately. I didn't even know a mattress could make this big of a difference.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought my first tempurpedic in 1997 after i lost my house in a flood. Had it until my divorce in 2015, she kept the mattress somehow. Did not get restful sleep until I GOT MY NEW MATTRESS and have been sleeping soundly ever since. My new one is better than my old one. Coupled with the adjustable base and I don't snore as bad, no sore throat when i wake up. If you want a good nights sleep this is it. I don't even get up to go to the bathroom 3 times a night anymore. I suspect discomfort was waking me, vacating my bladder allowed my joints to get back in alignment so I could go back to sleep every night. Now if I wake up I really do have to go. Overall this is a comfortable mattress, but it doesn't support my back like other firm mattresses. I invested in it as an answer to my back pain and I am terribly disappointed. This is not a true firm mattress. The support/resistance varies on different points of the surface, and it is effected by the room temperature. It gets softer in warmer temperatures and vise versa. A normal firm mattress alleviated my back pain, the Pro-Adapt firm does not. Tempur-Pedic ought to disclose this fact on their website, or avoid from classifying this mattress as "firm".

Hi Team, I wanted to see what the alternatives are since I have not been completely happy with my bed full transparency is I do have a back issue due to a random physical assault by a stranger and it is imperative to me and also my care team to find an overall great back support product. Can you help here ? Your part could be potentially harmful for my back so I'm hoping there is an alternative

We love our Tempurpedic-Pro Adapt Firm mattress. The first night we laid down in it and tried it we thought....oh no, we shouldn't have gotten the firm version, it's too hard!. But within a few seconds, the mattress perfectly envelopes your back and hips for a restful and supported night's sleep. This performance by the mattress has continued every night since without disappointment. I love how I can't feel my husband get in or out of bed or toss and turn....we both bought the Tempurpedic Cool Breeze PIllows that were offered as a BOGO deal with the paperwork that was delivered with the mattress. Finally, the mattress fit perfectly on our existing frame and we always have the option to purchase the adjustable base in the future. Thank you Tempurpedic!

This is our first experience with pro adapt firm which we liked immediately when we we went to store to try it out. We previously had a tempur pedic for 10 years. We have only had our pro adapt for a couple weeks and I am concerned that the firmness isn't as good as when we first purchased it. I plan to contact tempura pedic to see what they think may be the issue. We also purchased the adjustable foundation. We love tempura pedic due to injuries to my husband which helps him sleep better. We have recommended these mistresses to all our friends.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Before purchasing this mattress my husband and I woke up feeling sore and not rested. We love this mattress and our adjustable base. We start the night in zero gravity and then flatten the bed out sometime in the middle of the night. The zero gravity setting for the adjustable base is great for my husbands back. It takes all the pressure from the day away! Then when we flatten the mattress out later in the night, the mattress contours to us and we wake up feeling wonderful! The only problem we have is that we don't want to get out of bed in the morning!! We say it every night when we get in to bed....what a great purchase!!

We were many years overdue tossing out our original king size mattress and box spring. After visiting our local mattress store, and laying down on 6 or 7 mattresses, this is the one we knew we had to have, and since, we have experienced solid nights of sleep, and every little ache and pain we had has vanished. The price was worth it!
