[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This 3M packing tape is the sturdiest tape I've ever used. It was easy to get started on the roll. It comes with its own cutter so you don't have to use scissors. I highly recommend this tape for your toughest packaging needs.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I volunteer to evaluate products for 3M, and the company recently sent me a free sample of Scotch Heavy Duty Packaging Tape. I have used it on several different boxes, one which had a heavy item inside and was shipping via a shipping company. I was very happy with how the tape went onto the package and how heavy the tape felt compared to my normal packaging tape. It was much more sturdy and adhered much better. The dispenser is very easy to use and it allows for a smooth cut when using the tape. Very happy and pleased with this heavy duty tape.

I actually have an older model that I use all the time and both models seem to be the same style so I can attest to its durability but there are things that can make it better. The cardboard piece that covers the blade can not easily be removed (see picture), sure the flap piece comes off but the part behind the blade does not slide out once the flap is off. This can interfere with getting a clean cut of the tape, I'll probably have to use scissors to carefully cut it out but it could be easily fixed by having the holes align with the part that is ripped off so that it slides out on its own without risk of injury. Additionally when the roll was still full, it would sometimes get stuck and not rotate easily, I couldn't actually find the sticking point and it doesn't happen on my older one when I put in a new roll or now that I have used several layers on the new one. The tape itself also doesn't unroll smoothly but instead sort of jerks out in segments. Finally the inner latch that you use to replace rolls could be designed better, it doesn't always stay closed. In fact on the older model, I just use a piece of tape to keep it closed but again the design could be improved to keep them shut. As to where I use this product, I send baked goods to deployed soldiers every week so use these packaging dispensers to seal the boxes and apply the mailing labels to the box. These boxes are tossed around a lot during their journey overseas so need to be taped securely. I have been sending these boxes for almost 5 years and have sent almost 350 boxes so the dispensers and tape do work but could be improved with my suggestions.

I have found that this tape works very well without twisting or wrinkling as I apply it to the box. The customers are very satisfied that they receive their product intact and professionally shipped. Sticks fast and I have never had a problem with postage labels ever coming off of my packages on route to its destination. Very dependable. I have tried others and this Scotch brand is the BEST. I won't switch to any other.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I needed tape to close the package and to attach the shipping label. This heavy duty packaging tape works really well. It is easy to use and very strong. The dispenser is good for preventing the tape from falling back on itself. I also like the dispenser because I find it simple to use than cutting the tape with a pair of scissors. This is a great product. I strongly recommend having this tape at home and in the office.

It's what I always use for shipping and every year I use it to pack my Christmas decorations. Best tape ever!! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently had to send a phone back for repairs and used this tape to make sure the box was sealed good. This tape was very easy to get started, pull out to dispense the tape and tear pieces off. I was able to do it very easy and fast. I also love that the tape even feels thicker and durable. I was able to send our phone back with piece of mind knowing it was secure with this tape. I'm very pleased with it and will buy more when i need it.

I am an elementary teacher and use this tape for many many things in the classroom. One of the biggest uses is to tape name plates on student desks. I have never had any trouble until this year. The tape will not stay down on the desks. I bought a multi pack of tape and have tried all the rolls. I have wiped the tables with water, then the school's cleaner and then Clorox wipes. The tape comes up after each cleaning. Help! What do I need to do?
