The smell is strong, but does not seem ti make my clothes have the same strong scent. My towels smell pretty good, but my teenage kids and husbands work clothes do not smell any better. I will stick with my other product.

I would try cleaning my machines, thinking that was the culprit, but alas, no luck. The sour smell remained. When I got this, I was hoping for a miracle, because my towels were one wash away from being thrown into the trash. This liquid rinse promised to rid of build up from water and detergent caused by repeated washing. If this couldn’t do the job, nothing could. To be honest though, I didn’t have high hopes. But I’ll admit I was pleasantly surprised once my towels had been sufficiently washed with this rinse. Normally, after doing a load of towels, I wouldn’t be able to detect the sour smell until I dried off with one after a shower. I like to reuse a towel a few times before I chuck it into the laundry bin again. The entire time my towel was in use, I never got even a whiff of sour smell!! This stuff seems to have done the trick. Who knew that residue and build up could cause such a problem? I’m a believer in this stuff, and would absolutely recommend this to anyone facing the same problems as I have with the laundry. Sometimes things just need a reset, and I feel like that is exactly what this rinse has done for my laundry! Great product!

In an effort to get rid of this problem, I have purchased washing machine cleaners and add in crystals to boost more pleasant scent. These methods failed miserable with musty odor remaining. Downy rinse and refresh immediately removed the musty odor and left clothing feeling soft and odor free. The scent of the downy rinse and refresh cool cotton was very faint which I also found to my liking. I would highly recommend this product to those struggling to get rid of musty odors in their wash.

It doesn't bother our skin, and we have sensitive skin in our home. No residue is left behind on our clothes or the interior of our machine after use. The scent is fresh and light. Overall a very simple and nice working product. I washed our bedding in it and clothes. They came out smelling so fresh. Love that. I am pretty pleased with this product. I did receive this to test but all opinions are honest and my own.
