These perform as expected and provide a fairly bright and warm fire for several hours. I use these to provide a foundation for additional real wood fire. When doing this it is best to put the real wood above the log before it is lit. If you put real wood onto the fire log after it is burning good, the weight of the real wood smooshes the fire log pushing peices of it through the log grate.

This 9 pack of logs is perfect for starting wood fires in my fireplace. I put in one log at the bottom and then teepee stack logs over top of it. Just light the duraflame log and it starts the fire for me. No more newspaper or kindling needed to start wood fires in my fireplace. About as simple as it gets.

A definite PLUS. You get 9 large logs vs. 6 for the same price at other stores. The value will keep me coming back. However, I understand they are seasonal.

Best burning logs, clean burning, not waxy. Will not smoke like other logs (even other duraflame log types). They light easily and create a beautiful fire quickly.

Great Value for tue 9-Pack. Each log last close to its claimed 3-hour duration, but the last hour has very small flame to produce much warmth. Its still a very bright flame in a darkened room to be fair. I love how upu can easily light it with just a couple of spots in its wrapper and away it goes. I also love how little visible smoke it produces and just enough aroma to put you in the mood.

I love a fireplace but don't like the "old smoke" residual smell once the fire goes out. These work excellently in our fireplace with none of that occurring.

The Duraflame Gold fire logs are my go-to for our living room fireplace. One log is enough to create the ambiance expected from a live fire and gently warm the area. They used to burn a bit longer than 3 hours, and were less expensive, but what hasn't gone up in price these days. I recommend stocking up when they're on sale for around $22 ~ $23

Good option for under 3 hours log options. When you light up the paper cover it does not light up as easily. a coupel of times had to light up paper under the log to get it burning.

I know in the past I have purchased these logs and LOVED them, but the last few purchases have been less then fruitful. Seems that this is OLD stock and logs are not staying lite unless I add EXTRA real wood to burn; kinda defeats the purposes :(

I had high hopes for these especially since they were on sale when purchased and seemed like a great deal. Unfortunately they made a lot of smoke inside. Yes I had the flue open and even had a side window open to help air flow, and only was burning one at a time like the directions said. Initially it started off perfect but once the flame started to get smaller about an hour into it the house started getting smokey to the point we needed to open the windows because the smoke alarm went off. The stone above the fireplace is also now covered in black soot. These would probably be perfect for a small outdoor fire though. Ended up returning them.
