Decent Machine for the Money

If you take your time and there's no ice in the snow to try and break up, this machine works pretty well.

Snow Joe Ultra 18" 13-amp Electric Snow Thrower

The above equipment did not meet my expectations. It was used four times, The fourth and final time it started smoking and died. Save your money and give this device a wide pass.

Great Snowblower

I haven't had a good chance to use it,but it did a good job making a walking path through a pile of snow and ice. I loved that I didn't have to shovel through it. It did a great job. I'm really glad I bought it. It saved my back from the shovel method, and much, much faster.

Another "Wondering Star."

We bought the Snow Joe October 2017, now, Decemeber 2019, for our winter home in Garden Valley, Idaho and used it maybe 10x's. When in use, we smelled the aroma of burnt electrical aviance, then it quit, just quit... right in the middle of singing, "I was born a wondering star"... It gave up the ghost when we were using it in about 3 inches of snow. NUTS! We will attempt to return it, back to WAL-MART tomorrow.

Welcome to Wisconsin little blower!

I'm going to start with the obvious about this snow thrower. I'm tall. 6'4 kind of tall and I have to basically bend over to use this, and yes, it's set to it's maximum length/height. My roommate is 5'10 and he still has to slouch to use it. So if you're above average height be warned of this. Also it doesn't hold a charge and needs to be plugged in consistently. I did not know that when I purchased it and honestly that would have deterred me from the purchase. Now let's go to snow removal, or shall we call it, "Move the snow slightly to the side so you can go over it again and again until you are done". It doesn't do much except put the snow about two to three feet in whatever direction you have it aimed just so you can make another pass over it and so on and so on. Now mind you this isn't heavy wet snow or exceptionally deep snow I've used it on, about an inch to two inches max on a medium sized driveway and about twenty feet of sidewalk. Now about movement, if you aren't speed walking with it it isn't even moving the snow the very sad amount that it "throws" it. I've noticed the slower you move it the less it wants to actually move the snow. Got small almost unnoticeable cracks anywhere? Hope not! This thing gets stuck on the slightest of cracks or elevation changes and just doesn't like it at all. Over all, yes, it's better than shoveling, but just barely. If you're using it for snow removal on a deck or small walkway then I'd say it's worth it if you don't mind it plugged in constantly. All of that being said I hope my review helped you and happy buying in whatever you chose.

Impressed with the quality and price

I am surprised with the effectiveness and power of this machine. Well worth the price. For me, it was very helpful to watch the YouTube video instructions for assembly, as it was more simple and easier to understand. I also like how it has a soothing blender sound, instead of a loud powered machine that wakes up the neighborhood.

Dislike this product as it only has one screw to hold the blower in place it twists on and then one screw but every time we snowplow the top pops off and u have to stop what your doing to unscrew it brush it out and retest and screw it back on. Not worth the money.

electric snow thrower for the win

I bought this for our lot in a mobile home community. We have a 4 car driveway and about 15 feet or so of sidewalk, so we didn't need some beast. Initially I was looking at the power shovel but I figured for the $20-$30 more lets make life a little easier. Storage was also a concern as we have a 10x10 shed with which we have to store our other yard equipment, seasonal decorations, etc. I was very impressed with this little workhorse. It just handled 3” of snow with ease. It wasn't the light fluffy snow but rather medium weight. It did manage to handle some of the slushy snow by the street pretty well too all be it with a little patience. Would have preferred a cordless unit but the price you cannot beat it.

Over Worked

Purchased this during our winter of 2016/2017, through AAFES. It arrived in time to use it most of the snow season which was one of the worse we've had in a long time. I was totally amazed at how well it worked. If I had burned out the 13 amp motor I wouldn't have been surprised as I really made it do things I'm sue it wasn't designed to do. Last winter I only used it a few times as the winter was mild. I also bought one for my finance's son in Massachusetts and he has been putting his to the test also. But this past weekend we got hit really hard and I've been putting it through even harder plowing and it just keeps on going. I've even been using it for some charity work, helping others. It might not be big and super powerful, but it's certainly help save my back. I'm just hoping it keeps going for this winter as I clear my driveway and those of some senior citizens on a budget. This blower gives me good faith in this company.
