Improve the trajectory control

For my purpose this appears to be a great fit. My only small improvement suggestions is to have an easier way to control the up and down throwing of the shoot. I've seen other models that allow you to move the shoot up or down with one hand control instead of having to possibly shut off power in order to loosen the two side bolts. For my purpose I can get by without changing the trajectory to often. All and all — for the price this is a good machine .

Just right for a senior citizen.

This Snow Joe is just the right size for me, a senior citizen. Some assembly of the handle was required, so my son helped me. There was a problem connecting the extension cord. I had purchased a heavy duty 15amp cord. But the end of the cord was sort of rectangular and the place to insert it into the Snow Joe was round. It would not fit. So we got a hair dryer and softened the edges of the round hole until we could get the extension cord into it. Now they are permanently attached. That's not a problem for me, but others might want to be aware. I'm very pleased with my Snow Joe. I'm glad that it is electric so I don't have to deal with gas cans. It will handle a few inches of snow, and that's all I want to tackle.

Good Performer, Good Design, Nice Color, used 5x

Discharge Chute Issue: The lower and upper discharge chute popped out of front of the ring the control crank turns. So, remove the single screw (#2 phillips, use the correct tool correctly please) and re-assemble it. This part (the chute, not the ring which stays with the machine) is currently out of stock, from which one might infer others have this issue. The screw takes the trust of snow material as it discharges and for it to breakaway on being bumped (my pant leg, dungarees, walking by in the hall by the exterior door) is a good thing or at least acceptable. This thing is so light to carry but do not lift by the chute, Unplug it first. Feed it from a GFI. Showjoe offers a cord which looks like what you want and that is what you must most watch when operating. SJ618E is kind of a good medium size for my situation (decks, northern Sierra) and depending on snow that JUST FELL and whether light (in the 20's Fahrenheit) or 30's ("cement") this easy-to-start squealer machine (motor noise) lofts the snow so you don't have to. If wet snow freezes ("cement") freezes no blower would be able to have its mouth (auger housing) pushed into the snowbank. Metal shovel to make digestible chunks and immediately before it refreezes use the snowthrower on the chunks you broke off the bank because everything snow-like and snow-worthy rehardens. Work slow, be safe. The motor noise tells you if you are working it too hard (don't, motor belt sheave pulley auger and scraper will last longer) and others possibly in the area to not move toward an activity involving throwing snow.

Great Value

Works great. My biggest complaint is the discharge shoot won't stay on. I have to stop at least 1 time by pass. I'll wait until it dries then I'll try to super glue it on. Other than that, I highly recommend it. My driveway is about 50' long and 2 cars wide. Cleared it in about 10-15 minutes. Would've been quicker if I didn't have to keep replacing the discharge shoot.

electric snow thrower for the win

I bought this for our lot in a mobile home community. We have a 4 car driveway and about 15 feet or so of sidewalk, so we didn't need some beast. Initially I was looking at the power shovel but I figured for the $20-$30 more lets make life a little easier. Storage was also a concern as we have a 10x10 shed with which we have to store our other yard equipment, seasonal decorations, etc. I was very impressed with this little workhorse. It just handled 3” of snow with ease. It wasn't the light fluffy snow but rather medium weight. It did manage to handle some of the slushy snow by the street pretty well too all be it with a little patience. Would have preferred a cordless unit but the price you cannot beat it.

Great Snowblower

I haven't had a good chance to use it,but it did a good job making a walking path through a pile of snow and ice. I loved that I didn't have to shovel through it. It did a great job. I'm really glad I bought it. It saved my back from the shovel method, and much, much faster.

I was so happy to get this snow blower. I live in Michigan and we get a lot of snow. I'm 71 years old and I have a long sidewalk and a large driveway to shovel and it's killing my back. this snow blower was very easy to put together. the problem that I had was minimal it was that you only get one screw to secure the chute, which kept coming off when I used it the first time. however, I got three more little screws pounded them in a little bit with the hammer to get them started and then tighten them and bravo it worked. the shoe is on secure no problems and this item is amazing. love it love it love it

A great snow blower ,can't beat the price either.

Used it last year for 3 snow storms worked great[2021]. Used it today[1/29/22 Big snowstorm 12 in storm here NYC. Did my work in 45 min.The biggest problem is the cord,it might slow you down a bit but otherwise it was well worth the money. Should have bought it years ago.
