Tough ground beef

I bought a package of this ground beef on July 6 I noticed the price drop by one dollar a pound now I know why they dropped it by a dollar a pound I never had tough ground beef before this was terrible couldn’t hardly Chew it i thought maybe it was just me tried it again same thing tough wife agreed. I will not buy meat from samsclub again . This is why the ground beef was $2.98 lb instead of $3.98lb it just went back up to 3,98.

Bone bits in every package BEWARE ⚠️

I've purchased Sam's club ground beef for many years. The last 3 times, each package was full of bone bits. Cracking a tooth was the final straw. Quality control needs to know I'm not the only one having this issue. I'll never purchase ground beef from Sam's club again. BEWARE ⚠️

88/12 hamburger

I have been buying the 88/12 ground beef for several years. We really like it. If you leave it in the frig for several days, it will be dark in the center. I make mine up by the following day. I even bought a mark down pack last week. It was pink all the way through, wondered why it was marked down, but glad it was, I will continue to buy it.

Bad taste

This beef used to be so good. Now it tastes like plastic or chlorine or something chemical. Is it because you changed the packaging?? My family agrees, the past 3-4 purchases have all had this gross taste. It used to be really good beef! Will probably have to look for a new source, sadly.

Sam's Club West

The prices are not outstanding, but are competitive with other warehouse stores. When compared to regular food stores, the prices are much better. The meat quality, taste, and satisfaction is very high with your 90/10 ground meat. We regularly buy our ground meat from Sam's.

Bad batch

I have purchased this monthly at my previous Sams Club, never an issue. The pack I recently bought was rotten. It had a pretty "beefy" smell when I opened the package to divide it into smaller portions. Divided it and froze most of the package, but cooked a pound for supper that evening. The smell was so awful and disgusting. It filled the entire house. Hoping this is a one time occurance because I like the convenience and price .

Nope. It's changed.

I don't know what happened. This used to be our go to for hamburger meat. There was so much gristle and bone ground into the last 3 packs we purchased. It was disgusting. Not to mention one of them had some unidentifiable black bits in it. I can't even. Yuck!

Beware, Thumb on the scale!

I've been buying this for years and very happy with the quality of the meat itself. I freeze it into 1 lb packages by eyeballing it, or so I thought. Today, I broke out the scale, and guess what? I was 6 ounces short on the weight that the label stated. I re-weighed everything and, again, short. Then, I decided to weigh the packaging. It weighed 6 ounces! I'm sorry, but I'm being sold meat for that price, not the disposable packing. It is very unethical when you consider the cost per pound and the volume of sales they sell. That's probably 2 to 2.5 dollars per package. If the packing is too expensive, they should increase the cost of the meat to cover it, that's reasonable. But don't rip off the consumer. Shame on you, Sam's club in Calumet City, Illinois!

Concerning Chemical taste

AVOID! We bought this and used it to make a red sauce for pasta. It had a bizarre chemical taste that was so strong, my wife thought it was spoiled and threw it out before I got home. I opened a second pack and made burgers tonight. It had the same chemical taste. It wasn’t spoiled, I would describe it as a packaging or even a cleaning solution type taste. Reminded me of the glass cleaner we use on the stove top. We threw out all the burgers.

Better than tubes!

My wife and I had to switch over to the 88/12 ground option. It's more expensive than the tubes and slightly higher fat than 90/10, but tastes 10x better. I've had to throw out numerous pounds of the tube meat for tasting like manure. All was within date and frozen same day, but it is hit or miss how it will taste. This option is always reliable!
