I've never tried this product before. I've always bought another brand that is way more expensive. It is very comparable. It has the watering beads that i like, although not as many as the expensive brand. It was super lightweight to tote around which is helpful. I will purchase again.

I have used Sam club potting mix 55 quarts numerous times in the past... Today I just stopped by Sam Club in Allentown PA to buy one bag for my basil plant... I regretted it... there are so many wood chips (size 1-1.5 Inch length and .4 Inch width) and small wood balks. I only used a small portion to fill a planter, there is alot left in the bag. What is going on Sams? Very disappointed...I hate to return anything already opened....

Looks like they took wood chips and mixed them with potting soil. Which would be okay if the chips were small but they're not; they're 1 ½" long and ½-¾" wide! I'm very disappointed; please bring back the Miracle Grow brand that you used to carry! It was so much better!

Well, just a start, I am not able to use a lot of the potting soil because of the time of year it is(February). I did, however, change the soil in my potted plant that I have inside the house with the Members Mark professional potting mix. The mixture looks of good quality and you can see nutrients throughout. I can’t wait to use the Members Mark potting soil in the spring for the outside plants!

I bought two bags to fill large planters, planning to plant cilantro, dill and zinnia seed for a butterfly garden area. On opening the bag, large chunks of mulch and shredded wood were visible. I filled the planters, scattered the seeds and covered with another layer of potting mix. When I watered the planters, large mulch chips floated to the top, creating a layer on the top of the planters. In the photo, I have side by side comparisons with Members Mark and the more popular brand of potting mix sold at Sams. The next day, the top layer was dry as there was nothing to hold the moisture in place, it rapidly dried out since it's basically mulch. I'll have to give another review if the seeds germinate and grow well, but right now, I would not recommend this product or buy it again. I am usually impressed with Members Mark quality, but not this time.

Not even potting soil. Essentially mulch with an occasional rock. I cannot believe i paid for this garbage. Now I have to drive back to return this and buy miracle grow (which i normally buy but this looked similar in its description so I thought it was possibly made by miracle grow). I have better things to do with my time.....

Unfortunately I bought 10 bags of this for my raised beds. Every plant I planted is still the same size weeks later (if alive). I used another brand of potting mix in one of my raised beds and the tomatoes and beans are now 6 feet tall and producing like crazy (same starts planted at the same time). Such a sad waste!

This is the 1st bad product or review I have gotten from Sam's. I had a business membership from 2000 to 2017 a plus membership since 2017. I bought 6 bags of Members Mark potting soil Mix on May 13. I used it to plant a Mother's Day present and over $200 in annual plants in baskets and pots. I had purchased the Miracle Grow Moisture control potting soil for the previous years. This soil is inferior. My Wave petunias are normally hanging down about 2 feet below the baskets. My mother in-law talked about how her present isn't growing like it did every other year, my neighbors have noticed the difference in my plants.

I don’t see how they call this soil! First of all let’s start with the stains it left on the concrete. It seems as if they added dye to make it brown. Second there is no soil, they are calling chips soil. The amount of large sticks in the “soil” is ridiculous. I wasted so much money. I’ve been fertilizing and watering correctly and still no growth from my plants or seedlings. I’m guessing it’s from the lack of nutrients. Buyers beware. I certainly hope they change something soon.

This is marketed as an indoor/ outdoor potting soil for plants. This should be a "raised bed soil" due to the amount of wood chips / branches. I am glad I only purchased one bag since I need 10 bags total for my plants. I usually use Miracle Grow and was hoping this would be a good alternative. I am taking it outside to put into my compost heaps. Very disappointed in the quality.
