Replaced a pair of Optima batteries

Replaced a pair of Optimal batteries in my GMC Duramax diesel. Time will tell longevity, but so far no problems. Cost was a major consideration as these are less than half the cost of Optima's.

Has both types of terminals, good CC Amp rating

I put this in my 1989 Jeep. Had to make a few adjustments but I knew that in advance since it's larger than what it called for. Needed it to keep my Jeep running and use with the winch as well.

Great battery at a great price

Needed to replace a DieHard AGM battery that lasted almost 10 years in the AZ heat. This battery has a great rating at half the price of others. So far it’s been flawless to include heavy winching. Very happy.

I've always used Optima before

In my Jeep and trucks but they've gotten too proud of their name. This Duracell AGM has nearly the exact same specifications as the Optima, for about $100 less. Time will tell if it will prove as trustworthy but I expect this Duracell will prove as reliable as their batteries have always been.

Great bang for the buck!

I recently purchased this battery. It worked as designed. Got it for a good cost with the instant rebay.

As good as any other AGM!

I purchased one of these batteries in Oct of 2017 for my off-road Jeep Cherokee XJ. That battery is finally being swapped out (4/23) but not because it’s dead. It’s being moved to the winch on my car hauler to finish its life (seems like it still has a lot left). Battery is still working like new and has never given me any problems. Highly recommend these Duracell AGM batteries.

3 yr battery but only lasted 2.5 months before it died, ok battery, glad it was still under warranty, but new replacement you are only offered the remaining months from previous battery, in my case 6 months warranty. For the price I expected battery to last longer than 3 yrs

Failed under warranty and got a free replacement

I purchased this battery for my Jeep Grand Cherokee in 2018, and just had it replaced 4 months before the 3-year warranty expired. Sam's processed the replacement no questions asked which is why I'm giving it 3 stars and not 1. They did inform me that you only get 1 free replacement, so hopefully this one will last another 3 years. With the colder temps this winter, it had trouble cranking and I had to keep it plugged in or it would die after sitting for a few days. Checked the ignition-off draw of the Jeep and it was within spec (35mA), checked the battery with a load tester and it was at 55% state of health (replacement needed). It still started if I kept it plugged into a charger overnight, but this morning the Jeep would just crank without starting. I guess it just wasn't providing the CCA needed to get the motor running. Swapped in a spare battery and it fired right up. Brought the old one back to Sams and got a free replacement. I'm not convinced AGM batteries are worth the hype. My old Interstate conventional battery also failed after 2.5 years, and I was hoping this one would be better but it seems to be about the same. I guess the one benefit is the 3 year warranty. Interstate only offers 2 years so I guess this makes it worth it.

Not The AGM Batteries They Used To Be

3yr. warranty whether you buy the standard sealed or AGM battery. This begs the question - Why pay so much more for the AGM Duracell? I had been regularly getting 7-8 yrs. from the AGM Duracell batteries by keeping NOCO chargers connected every time I parked my vehicles in my large garage. With no unusual vehicle drains, or problems with the vehicle electrical system, or a NOCO charger problem, I today found one of my Duracell AGM batteries now has a dead cell and won't start the vehicle - just out of its Duracell warranty. Since this appears to be the normal experience now for many, I will no longer pay extra for an AGM Duracell, although I may buy the cheaper standard sealed Duracell. I have seen each and every one of my standard sealed Duracell batteries last at least 5 years regularly in the past. I purchased another brand AGM as a replacement for the dead AGM Duracell - an ODY brand I have seen last as long as 15 years, even after severe abuse. It cost 60% more than the AGM Duracell, but long-term service is a must for me. I did notice the AGM batteries were missing date codes and were mixed with months older AGM batteries when I bought my last two at Sam's Club. Could someone have swapped the stick-on date code? I couldn't say, but it could have easily been the case as the batteries are kept on open to the public shelves. But, at the time of that purchase, it did also look as if sales for these batteries had slacked off. I've noticed many popular group sizes have been very low in stock and unavailable for months at a time in my local club over the past four years. Either way, this doesn't speak well for Duracell.
